Grand Lido Negril Au Naturel All-Suite-Resort

The former Grand Lido was demolished, and built back up as three separate resorts with fresh, modern interiors: The Grand Lido Negril Au Naturel All-Suite Resort, Royalton Negril, and Hideaway at Royalton Negril. This is the clothing-optional pick for adults 21 and over, while Hideaway is a clothing-required adults-only spot, and Royalton is the family-friendly resort. With just 26 elegant rooms, the vibe here is intimate, laid-back, and upmarket, largely attracting an older crowd of couples. Guests generally hang out at the main infinity pool with a swim-up bar, or if in one of the six swim-out suites, on their terrace. However, some past guests have complained that because nudity isn't required at the main pool, many travelers are clothed and it can make those without swimsuits feel uncomfortable. Also on the downside, there's no real beach at the Grand Lido property, so guests will have to go next door (wearing a suit) to utilize the beach. A Reggae Bar & Grill, and open-air Ocean Point restaurant are on-site, but all other features -- the spa, buffet and specialty restaurants, gym, and water sports -- are located at neighboring hotels. This is a suitable pick for peace-seeking couples, but travelers wanting to sunbathe nude on the beach should consider Couples Negril. Those more interested in a party atmosphere where clothing is optional may prefer Hedonism II. The Grand Lido is set along the southern point of Bloody Bay in Negril. It doesn't have a beach of its own, but there's one next door. It has a quiet setting overlooking the ocean, but residential apartments to its left do have clear views of the hotel. Kool Runnings Waterpark is a two-minute drive south, while the famous Seven Mile Beach is around seven minutes in the same direction. The popular bar and music venue Rick's Cafe, where locals and tourists cliff-dive, is an 18-minute drive south. Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay is a 90-minute drive away. 

As the hotel opened in 2017, the 26 rooms here are fresh, modern, and in good shape. The elegant style consists of cream tile floors, walls and tufted benches, wood furniture in natural or cream finishes, brown blankets, throw pillows, and curtains, and silver sculpted wall hangings above the bed. Although called suites, only Presidential Suites have separate living spaces, while all others have small sitting areas off to the side of the beds. Catering to romancing couples, all rooms have stand-alone jetted tubs and two-person rainfall showers. Additionally, all have furnished terraces with ocean views, six of which have swim-out access to a shared pool. Standard amenities consist of work desks, plush velvet chairs, tea- and coffee-making facilities, free daily-restocked minibars, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Closets have electronic safes, ironing facilities, and bathrobes and slippers. Swish bathrooms have hairdryers, Royalton-branded toiletries, and scales. The two Penthouse Suites have separate living spaces with couches, dining tables, and bars, and outdoor hot tubs.

Grounds of the Grand Lido are fairly compact, so there's not a ton on-site. The resort centers around the bi-level infinity pool, which has lovely ocean vistas and a swim-up bar. A hot tub and plenty of cushioned loungers are also on the deck. Nudity isn't required at the pool, so it tends to be a mix of clothed and nude travelers. Although there's a tiny raised sandy area with a couple of loungers, there's no true beach on-site, so guests will need to head next door to the Hideaway or Royalton for beach lounging (but they'll have to don a swimsuit). The poolside Reggae Bar serves tasty Jamaican fare, while the open-air Ocean Point Bistro serves upscale French fare for lunch and dinner. As an all-inclusive property, all meals, daily poolside snacks, and alcoholic beverages are covered by the room rate. Butler service is also included, and they're on hand to assist with reservations, in-room dining, and unpacking suitcases. Wi-Fi and parking are both free. Guests of the Grand Lido have unlimited access to features at the Royalton Negril and Hideaway at Royalton Negril, including the swish spa, well-equipped fitness center with daily classes, non-motorized water sports, several pools, and daytime activities. An array of restaurants and bars are available, including Zen, a teppanyaki and sushi spot, Hunter Steakhouse, the Tex-Mex Armadillo eatery, and Italian Grazie Trattoria. The Culinary Experience Chef’s Table requires an additional fee. The buffet eatery receives positive reviews for both quality and variety.
