Scene
A lovely tourist hotel with a relaxed vibe that's popular with couples
The spectacular, airy lobby packs a punch, with intricately carved woodwork, a huge wood-burning stone fireplace, and museum-quality photography of majestic landscapes and wildlife from noted photographer Thomas Mangelsen. A striking antler chandelier hangs above bronze sculptures from Fredic Remington, and plenty of comfy leather furniture is available to take a seat and soak up the atmosphere. The Inn has the look and feel of a grand mountain ski lodge, and it’s generally a peaceful property with a relaxed vibe that hosts mostly tourists and the occasional business group. With no pool, some families might choose to stay elsewhere.
Location
A short drive from downtown Jackson, but not within a reasonable walk
The Wyoming Inn is located on West Broadway, which runs directly into downtown Jackson. It’s about one mile from historic Town Square, roughly a five-minute drive. Guests can also hop on a free shuttle that stops outside the hotel to access downtown. There are a couple of full-service restaurants that are less than two minutes on foot, and a McDonald’s is a three-minute walk. A grocery and liquor store is a one-minute drive, as are a few other restaurants. It’s a six-minute drive to the slopes at Snow King Resort and eight minutes by car to the National Elk Refuge. It takes about 20 minutes to drive to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort at Teton Village and to Jackson Hole Airport. Craig Thomas Visitor Center, a starting point for Grand Teton National Park, is 25 minutes away by car. Yellowstone National Park is approximately an 80-minute drive, and Idaho Falls is a little less than two hours away.
Rooms
Handsome and spacious, with Keurig coffeemakers, mini-fridges, and microwaves
Soft lighting, pleasant earth tones, and wood trim with an amber finish give the comfortable and spacious guest rooms at Wyoming Inn of Jackson Hole a warm glow. A range of brown and gold hues is used for carpeting, accent walls, fabric-padded headboards, drapes, bed throws, and upholstered armchairs. Fine leather desk chairs and benches are darker brown, as is the matching wood furniture. Similar to the lobby, beautiful Western-theme photography graces the walls. Standard rooms (Kings and Double Queens) offer ample space for comfort, and larger Premium rooms and King Mini-Suites feature sleeper sofas and gas fireplaces. Standard amenities include microwaves, mini-fridges, Keurig coffeemakers, 42-inch flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Striking granite vanities are placed both inside and immediately outside the bathrooms, which have walk-in showers with glass doors. The units are quiet, although there's some limited road noise in front-facing rooms. Some rooms offer glimpses of distant mountains, although many also overlook parking lots and the road.
Features
Modern gym, locally sourced food, and free Wi-Fi, but no full restaurant or free breakfast
This classy hotel has many attractive amenities, but it’s missing a few as well. The Whistling Grizzly restaurant serves locally sourced, organic food for breakfast for a fee, but it isn't a full-service restaurant, and there's no bar service. After the restaurant closes for the day, free coffee and ice water are available for guests. The spacious fitness center is a highlight, with modern cardio and strength-training equipment, but the hotel doesn’t have a pool or whirlpool. A luxurious boardroom is available for small meetings, a computer and printer serve as the business center, and free newspapers are available. The laundry room on the second floor is free for guests, and the front desk sells detergent and dry sheets. Valet dry cleaning and laundry service is offered for an extra charge. There's free on-site parking and free scheduled shuttles to the airport, and Wi-Fi is free throughout.
