Bottom Line
Guests are free to roam the Flying Saddle Resort's gorgeous seven acres, which include the Snake River and glorious views of the surrounding mountains. As beautiful as the great outdoors are, the hotel's interior leaves something to be desired. Its 172 rooms, though clean and spacious, are extremely basic, with old tube TVs, outdated bedspreads, and blank, harsh white walls. Although facilities, such as the small fitness center and decent-size pool, are pretty basic, the hotel is clean and offers nice conveniences -- there is a liquor store and Steak & Seafood House restaurant on-site. About a 40-minute drive to Jackson Hole, the Flying Saddle Resort is a great place for visitors that aren't looking for much more than simple, cozy accommodations at a secluded spot in the Wyoming wilderness.

Located in Alpine, a small, secluded town about an hour south of Jackson Hole
The surrounding area, though not very exciting, is peaceful and quiet, and a few convenience stores and restaurants can be found here. With Jackson Hole being about a 50-minute drive, not too much is in the immediate area, but it offers some quiet seclusion for those seeking to really get away from it all.
Jackson Hole, near the Wyoming's western border with Idaho, is a low-lying valley surrounded by mountains that are frequently used for various outdoor activities, like hiking, biking, and skiing.
