Bottom Line

With 33 apartments, the Residence dei Due Porti is a mid-range property centrally located between the old harbor and the new marina. Functional, bright apartments are equipped with full kitchens, air-conditioning, and balconies; some have seafront views. But the decor is basic and a bit dated. This property has some nice features, including an on-site children's playground, a rooftop sun terrace, and parking (though there's a small parking fee). The

Scene

Mid-range property with spacious apartments and a friendly vibe

Residence dei Due Porti is a mid-range property with apartments complete with kitchenettes that are a good match for families. The entrance leads to a small, but bright and welcoming,
reception area. There are maps of the local area available, as well as other
useful information for tourists, plus a computer station. The property
is light and clean throughout, with hallways lined with quarry tiled floors and a small communal lounge with a vending machine, seating, TV, and some tourist information leaflets. It's not exactly stylish, but guests find the atmosphere is laid-back and friendly.

Location

Centrally located for seeing San Remo on foot

The Residence dei Due Porti -- meaning "residence of the two ports" -- is
located between San Remo’s old harbor and the new Marina Portosole. The location is a very
central spot in the town, ideal for tourists; it's right across from the beach and only a six-minute walk to Piazza Colombo. The famous Via Matteotti, the
Theatre Ariston, San Remo Casino, and the town’s designer boutiques are all within a 15-minute radius on foot. There are
a large number of bars and restaurants along the seafront outside the hotel
too. It’s just one block from a large convenience store, and right across the
street is Europe's longest bike trail, which runs along the stunning coastline.
For getting farther afield, San Remo’s train station is a 10-minute walk away,
and Nice’s Cote d'Azur Airport is around 55 minutes away by car.

Rooms

Spacious and bright apartments with full kitchens and scenic balconies

Rooms at the Residence dei Due Porti are all spacious apartments. They have
fairly simple and functional decor, with laminate flooring and soft furnishings in sea-inspired shades of blues and greens. The apartments are all very light and
bright, and all have air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, balconies, and most have
fabulous sea views (some overlook a courtyard instead). Apartments come in
various sizes to suit various families or groups, and they're are equipped with a
full kitchen including microwave, fridge and freezer, and electric kettle. There's also a lounge area with
another TV plus a DVD player. Bedrooms also have flat-screen TVs, although it's
worth noting that there aren't any English-speaking channels available despite
there being a large number of satellite channels. Daily housekeeping is offered and towels and bed linens are changed every two days. Bathrooms are spacious and simple; the majority just have a shower stall. While the rooms don't suffer from any street noise, walls are
thin and noise from neighboring rooms can be an issue for some guests.

Features

Sun terrace, children’s playground, and free bike hire

Directly outside the hotel, there's a free beach, but guests of the Residence
can also get discounted access to the nearby private beaches that offer deck
chairs and parasols. Guests can also sunbathe on the hotel's rooftop terrace, which has fantastic panoramic views of the beach, town, harbor, and mountains,
and plenty of tables, chairs, and parasols. There’s an attractive playground
for young children with a good range of equipment, and free loaner bikes are available to all guests. Pets are welcome at the hotel, and Wi-Fi is free
throughout the building. The Residence has on-site secure parking, although
there is a small daily fee. The hotel lacks an on-site restaurant or bar, though many guests make up for this by utilizing the kitchen in their apartment to stock snacks and drinks.
