Hotel Miramare Sestri Levante

High vaulted ceilings and colorful stained glass adorns the small, modern lobby, which has a few antique patterned chairs for seating. There are plenty of relaxed places for guests to unwind throughout the hotel, including the elegant Bellavista Room, which has a contemporary white rug over hardwood floors with white couches and a fireplace creating a cozy ambience. Arched windows make the space bright and there is vibrant classic art on the walls. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the polished Restaurant Baia del Silenzio offer excellent sea views while the contemporary Karma Bar is crisp white-and-dark-wood space, with twinkling track lighting over a dark bar topped with tan marble. A glass ceiling and glass walls encompass the panoramic terrace, which has marvelous water views as well as an outdoor wicker seating area. Guests here are mostly couples, though a few families pass through as well. 

The beachfront Hotel Miramare Sestri Levante is in the heart of the historic center near Sestri Levante's pedestrian zone on the scenic Baia del Silenzio. There are restaurants, shops, and bars in every direction, and the town's train station is within a 15-minute walk. Piazza Sant’Antonio and Galleria Rizzi, a villa turned art gallery, take five minutes to reach on foot. Lavagna, a charming, neighboring town with a bustling port, takes about 10 minutes to reach by car, while the north end of the Cinque Terre is about an hour away by car. Santa Margherita Ligure is a 20- to 25-minute drive and is home to Santa Margherita Ligure Castle. Genoa is a 45-minute drive from the hotel. The closest major airport, Genoa Cristoforo Colombo Airport, can be found there.

Neutrals blanket the refined, elegant rooms, with light tile floors and soft brown curtains with stylish white patterns. Wainscoted white-and-taupe walls are hung with vibrant landscape art in some rooms, while white leather armchairs or earth tone love seats provide seating. Dark wood furniture and brass light fixtures make a final, sophisticated statement. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, minibars, safes, and air-conditioning, and some rooms have fireplaces or balconies with superb sea views. Suites have living rooms and dining areas with flat-screen TVs, while Family Rooms contain up to five beds. Modern, beautiful bathrooms have marble floors and walls in tan and brown tones. Heated towel racks as well as slippers and toiletries are available. Most walk-in showers have rainfall showerheads, though this isn't standard across all rooms, and some showers also have massaging jets. Additionally, some rooms have two bathrooms plus separate jetted tubs.

Guests have private access to a short beach with blue lounge chairs underneath white umbrellas. A beach bar with white wicker seating, snacks, smoothies, and cocktails is also offered. Mediterranean and local cuisines are served at the renowned Restaurant Baia del Silenzio, which has nightly themed tasting menus. Cocktails, wine, and beer are provided at Karma Bar. Breakfast, which includes pastries, meats, cheeses, fruit, and juice, is free and during certain seasons it's served on the outdoor patio. All food and drinks receive excellent reviews. Certain room bookings obtain a modest discount on food and drinks at the on-site restaurant and bars. There is room service in addition to free train station pick-up, and the front desk can provide concierge services. The hotel has a meeting and conference room on site that doubles as a cinema room. Free Wi-Fi is available, but the connection can be poor. Additionally, the hotel has on-site parking, but it costs extra.
