Scene

Boutique hotel with 1970s Miami-inspired decor that's bright and colorful attracting young crowds

The lime-green Tropicana Ibiza Coast Suites stands out even on a palm tree-lined street. The hotel’s design was inspired by iconic 1970s Art Deco hotels in Miami, so it’s no surprise that travelers will feel like they’ve walked into an episode of "Miami Vice." Pink and lime green reign here, with the lobby featuring salmon-pink floors, lime-green ceilings and columns, and tropical plants galore. The front desk shares the airy lobby with the hotel’s bar, which is square shaped with curved edges and flanked by trendy vintage-style white stools. With brown leather retro couches and white futuristic chairs placed here and there, guests have plenty of space to enjoy a cocktail and interact. Outdoor spaces are similarly charming and include a small patio with lime metal chairs and tables and plenty of tropical plants and palm trees. A youthful crowd of couples and friends makes up the majority of the clientele here, drawn by the trendy, colorful design and relaxing pool.

Location

Within walking distance of the beach, Pere Matutes boulevard, popular clubs, and plenty of dining options

Tropicana Ibiza Coast Suites is conveniently situated a five-minute walk from the Platja d'en Bossa, a popular beach lined with hotels, resorts, and beach clubs. It’s a three-minute walk to the Pere Matutes boulevard, a main drag filled with restaurants, shops, and bars. For nightlife, the popular clubs Space and Ushuaia can be reached in 10 minutes on foot. Aguamar waterpark is also a 10-minute walk away. It’s a six-minute drive to Ibiza Airport.

Rooms

Stylish, retro rooms with flat-screen TVs, Smeg minibars, small kitchenettes, and balconies

Tropicana's 28 Suites have the same playful retro Miami-style decor as the rest of the property, and they're appropriately named after cocktails that the bar serves. They're decorated in citrus tones of lime green paired with white glossy floors, bedding, and furniture. Flamingo and palm tree wall art reinforces the tropical vibe, while funky round tables and chairs add a 1970s style to the rooms. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, Smeg minibars, air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, safes, and kitchenettes with two-burner stoves, sinks, kettles, cookware, utensils, and plates. Each room also comes equipped with a balcony and two free water bottles a day. Bathrooms are pink, decked out with large walk-in tiled showers and rock cut sinks. They offer toiletries, hairdryers, and magnifying mirrors.

Features

Outdoor pool, trendy bar, basic meals and snacks, iPads to borrow, and free Wi-Fi and parking

Most travelers come to the area for the beach, but this hotel has several trendy facilities to satisfy guests while on-site. Though the hotel doesn’t have a gym, there’s a lovely outdoor pool with stylish sunbeds and a playful popcorn machine. The hotel’s Cocktails & Dreams Bar has doors that open out onto the pool and serves 30 different types of signature cocktails. Though there's no full restaurant on-site, guests can take advantage of a breakfast buffet in the morning that includes cheeses, meats, yogurts, juices, and pastries. It can be included in room rates. There’s also a basic menu of American snack on offer (hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, etc.), plus room service is available. Free Wi-Fi is found throughout and guests can borrow iPads. Free parking is available on-site. Direct bookings get perks like free airport transfers and late check-out upon availability.
