The upper-middle-range Suites Hotel S'Argamassa Palace is a seasonal beach property near Santa Eulalia del Rio. A grand entrance, green marbled floors, white marble columns, and a rock fountain lobster tank exhibit the old-fashioned elegance found in common areas. The 24 suites, meanwhile, have an updated, contemporary design with flat-screen TVs and small kitchenettes. All rooms have a terrace or balcony with pool or garden views. The leafy pool area is a favorite spot for guests to relax, while features like the small spa and gym and the makeshift mini-golf course can be disappointing. Note that the hotel is closed from November through April. Freebies include Wi-Fi and a decent breakfast buffet. This spot is only a few minutes' walk to Cala Pada beach, but if you're looking for a waterfront property, check out the Hotel Catalonia Ses Estaques.
Scene
Boutique hotel with mix of contemporary and dated decor, popular with German families
This 24-suite boutique started its life as an apartment building. Though the original building was torn down to make way for the hotel, dated markers of its previous existence and age remain, like old light switches and tube-style hairdryers. However, what sticks out the most is the hotel's old-fashioned elegance approach to decor that has resulted in an overwhelming amount of green and white marble throughout the hotel. As soon as guests enter the hotel, they are hit with shiny green marble columns and slick travertine floors with black checkerboard at reception. Unfortunately, the overall look in public areas is dated, aside from modern wicker seating by the pool. This property remains a favorite for German couples and families, though it sees guests from all over Europe and the U.S. as well. While July and August see more kids, later in the season the guests tend to be more middle-aged couples. This property is only open from May through October.

Rooms
Suites with contemporary furniture, kitchenettes, and outdoor spaces
All 24 suites here come with climate control AC and heating, safes, and free Wi-Fi. Rooms have the most up-to-date furnishings of the whole hotel, though material choices like shiny travertine tile floors, granite bathroom countertops, and hose-style hairdryers keep these otherwise contemporary spaces feeling slightly dated. Living rooms are huge and outfitted with a modern look in beach-themed tones of turquoise and beige, plus sofas that convert into beds. Each kitchenette houses a small microwave, two-burner electric cooktop, and a minibar with freezer slot. Both the bedroom and the living room have a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, and all units have either a furnished balcony or terrace that overlooks the pool or gardens. Due to the tall trees in the surrounding areas, catching a view of the sea is difficult. Grand Suites each have a king bed and a terrace with a hammock, table and chairs. These are all on the first floor. Preferable Suites have two single beds side-by-side, a larger curved couch in the living room, and second- or third-floor balconies with a table and chairs set and panoramic views over the forest. Junior Suites have either a double bed or two twins and contemporary and stylish furniture made of laminate wood and metal. These rooms have smaller balconies and plastic lawn furniture. Expect Campos de Ibiza toiletries and bidet in the bathrooms, and fluffy bathrobes and slippers in the hall closets.
Beach
Relaxing beach nearby with loungers for rent
Cala Pada beach is just a two-minute walk away from the hotel. This quiet, relaxing beach has plenty of sandy space to thrown down a towel, or there are several rows of contemporary stretched loungers and umbrellas available to rent for a reasonable price. The small beach bar and restaurant (not owned by the hotel) takes drink orders and delivers food to the beach. There's also a long wooden dock and different types of water sports.
Features
Lovely outdoor pool and small wellness area
The main attraction here is the hotel's tranquil pool area. Flowering potted plants, tall bushy trees, and warm-colored tiles help give this area a distinct Mediterranean feel, while the array of contemporary stretched canvas loungers and comfy cushioned wicker sunbeds make it easy to pick a place to relax. A hedged perimeter fence provides privacy and a tiled mosaic design sparkles from the bottom of the pool. There's also a small, shallow kids' pool, and it's not uncommon to see people reading in the sun. Suite S'Argamassa Palace may be small but it packs in several resort-like features. Just off the pool, a small building houses the wellness area, where a partition divides a tiny, dated gym and a makeshift spa area. Only guests with spa appointments are able to use the whirlpool and sauna. Around back of the wellness area, there's a basic five-hole mini-golf course. In the summer months, a second-floor sun terrace is equipped with loungers, but it may be empty in the slow season. Inside, there's a small restaurant with marble floors and columns where guests can sit at the somewhat dated tables and chairs, or out on the covered terrace. The free breakfast buffet with hot and cold items is served here in the mornings, while an expensive a la carte Mediterranean menu, including live lobster from the tank, is available for lunch and dinner. For more casual food options, the lobby bar serves up burgers, sandwiches, and hot dogs, plus a full bar menu. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi, a concierge service, beauty center, and small souvenir shop off reception. Taking advantage of the free street parking is harder in the peak summer months.
