Bottom Line

One of the best features at this 495-room family-friendly resort is its location directly on Cala Llonga, a sandy cove with shallow waters and beautiful surroundings. This property is average for a mid-range all-inclusive but ticks all the boxes for a relaxing vacation in the sun, with small but clean rooms, two pools, kid-friendly amenities, and two decent buffet restaurants. As is the case with most all-inclusives in Ibiza, the pool area tends to be overcrowded during the peak season and loungers go fast in the morning, but there is a quieter adult-only sundeck with additional seating. Freebies such as Wi-Fi and parking add value.

Scene

A busy all-inclusive resort that draws families and couples

Sirenis Cala Llonga Resort is actually two hotels in one, the Playa Imperial and the Playa Dorada, which share all facilities and services. Guests are assigned a section depending on room type, and units have the same decor style and amenities in both. Partial renovations in early 2014 brought fresh coats of paint to both buildings as well as upgraded in-room amenities, such as flat-screen TVs and safes. The mix of dated elements, such as veined clay-colored floors and pillars and colorful armchairs makes the Playa Imperial lobby a little funky, while Playa Dorada’s main reception area is more generic with cream-colored couches and a matching long front desk. Those with walking difficulties may want to note that due to the hotel’s location on a rocky area that meets the sea there may be lots of steps to climb from one place in the resort to the other.

Location

On quiet Cala Llonga, a sandy cove surrounded by Mediterranean forests

The resort is located directly on the northern edge of quiet Cala Llonga, a pretty, sandy cove with shallow waters. The property is located at the end of a street that turns into a main road connecting the town to Santa Eulalia, but this block doesn’t get much traffic and is therefore quiet. There are a couple of casual bars a few minutes’ walk away, and many more can be found in the village, which is a 10-minute walk from the property. Small, intimate Sol d’en Serra cove is a five-minute drive away, and Ibiza Town can be reached by car in under 20 minutes.

Rooms

Small but clean rooms with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and air-conditioning

The Cala Llonga’s 495 clean rooms are spread across two buildings, but all units have the same amenities and decor style regardless of where they are located. Rooms are basic and plain with orange bed runners and curtains that stand out against the white linens and walls. Wooden furniture is simple but mostly in good shape, and amenities -- including flat-screen TVs (with a few English channels) and air-conditioning -- are on par with other mid-range resorts in the area. Free Wi-Fi, however, is a nice perk that not all comparable hotels offer. All rooms have a balcony furnished with plastic tables and chairs overlooking either the pool area or the sea, and most offer at least a partial view of the cove. Safes are available for a fee, but rooms lack mini-fridges. Bathrooms are small but clean and feature shower/tub combos and basic toiletries. Two-bedroom Family Rooms have either four beds or two twins and a bunk bed in a separate area. Complaints of paper-thin walls are common.

Features

Two pools, two buffet restaurants, a pool bar, a small gym, and nice freebies

Sirenis Cala Llonga Resort has two seafront pools, including one with a kiddy section separated from the adult pool by a security gate. Additionally, there’s also a tiny plunge pool for toddlers on a solarium a few flights of stairs above the main deck. The pool area can be busy in the summer and some guests have complained that entertainment around the pool can be loud. The snack bar offers fast food items and drinks and has outdoor seating. The hotel also offers two decent buffet restaurants as well as a bar with nightly shows and a kids’ club with a cute flight simulator. The gym has a couple of machines and a basic wellness area, but there is a fee for use of the whirlpool and the sauna. Wi-Fi and on-site parking are both available free of charge.
