Migjorn Ibiza Suites & Spa

The Migjorn Ibiza Suites & Spa first opened in 1979 as the first hotel in (the now hopping) Playa d'en Bossa, and it's still run by the same family. Though its history is long, this property is one of the most stylish in town, with striking modern design and a red, white, and black color palette. The lobby features a white front desk with a white flower pattern that stands out against the gray floors and red and black ottomans. Large silver vases with white flowers add a fresh touch to the space, and floor-to-ceiling windows let in lots of natural light. This decidedly modern style extends to Unic, the hotel’s Mediterranean restaurant, and the pool bar. White tables and chairs, a red carpet over a wooden deck, and an ornate black screen dividing the restaurant’s outdoor space from the grounds set the bar for style in Playa d’en Bossa. Although the vibe is trendy and the style sleek, this property welcomes families as well as couples and groups of friends, with large, modern apartments for up to six guests, and a wide array of on-site amenities convenient for all types of travelers. 

This hotel is located on a quiet street a block from one of the longest beaches on the island. There are lots of restaurants, bars, and shops within a five-minute walk, and an on-site supermarket allows guests to stock their apartments (complete with kitchenettes) with all the basics. Although the street doesn't get much traffic and feels on the quiet side, the property is conveniently located a three-minute walk from Bora Bora, one of the most famous clubs in Ibiza. Other nightlife hotspots such as Space, Ushuaïa, and the Hard Rock Hotel are all within 15 minutes on foot. The town of Ibiza is a 10-minute drive north, and the airport is a five-minute drive away.

The Migjorn offers 100 clean duplex and triplex apartments designed in a bold black, white, red, and silver color palette. The smallest units here are the Platinum Suites, which can sleep up to four guests, and feature one bedroom, a living area with a double sofa bed, and a kitchenette with a cooktop, a mini-fridge, a toaster, and an electric kettle. The largest units have beds for six guests, and offer great extras such as iPod docks, Nespresso machines, jetted tubs, and large terraces with views. Standard amenities include flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and safes. Decor is contemporary and stylish throughout, with silver wallpaper and matching comforters in some rooms, and a mix of white, red, and black furniture in all units. Bathrooms are contemporary and attractive, with dark walls and floors, large walk-in showers, and round vessel sinks on white counters. 

As a hotel that draws a varied crowd including families and couples, this hotel has two pool decks with very different vibes. The main deck -- complete with a larger pool and two smaller ones -- offers DJ sessions, stylish cabanas, and direct access to a bar with indoor and outdoor seating. The other deck has a kids' pool adjacent to the adults pool, a small playground, and a more family-friendly atmosphere. Free access to a small spa featuring a hydrotherapy area, a sauna, and two massage cabins is a perk for all guests. The hotel also offers a small fitness center equipped with cardio and strength-training machines, a meeting room with a projector, an on-site supermarket, airport transfer service, and free Wi-Fi throughout. Unic Restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine with a twist in a stylish space with several outdoor seating areas. The restaurant’s rooftop lounge is a popular spot for evening drinks as well.
