Scene

A value hotel with clean rooms and a party atmosphere

Located in a quiet area a short walk from the hustle and bustle of central Sant Antoni, Es Pla draws young partiers and couples looking to experience the city’s famous nightlife scene. Although most rooms have been renovated, decor is still bland and common spaces are basic and a little dated. Gray floor tiling, mismatched furniture, and exposed brick pillars make the lobby feel old-fashioned and drab. The front desk area, however, is somewhat more appealing with a large, colorful aerial photo of San Antonio Bay and white wicker couches with aquamarine and yellow pillows. The hotel can be loud during the day and light sleepers may be disturbed by guests returning from reveling due to poor soundproofing in rooms, but there is a quiet area with a pool for those who need a break.

Location

A couple of blocks from the beach and a five-minute walk from central Sant Antoni

The hotel is located directly on the road connecting Sant Antoni and Ibiza Town. Although it is a main thoroughfare, the immediate area is mostly quiet, as there is little on this block aside from a few other hotels and a couple of shops selling beach gear. A large, cheap supermarket can be found just down the street. Sant Antoni Bay is a two-minute walk from the property, and there are a couple of other nice beaches a short drive away. Popular clubs such as Eden and Es Paradis are within a three-minute walk of the hotel, and the Sunset Strip -- known for its famous nightlife spots such as Cafe del Mar and Mambos -- can be reached on foot in about 10 minutes. Ibiza Town and the airport are each a 20-minute drive away.

Rooms

Rooms have basic decor, air-conditioning, and flat-screen TVs.

The Invisa Hotel Es Pla has 175 spacious rooms, all featuring balconies with plastic chairs and tables. All units are clean but basic, both in terms of decor and equipment; picture simple wooden furniture, thin bedspreads with brown, yellow, and blue geometric patterns, and striped curtains with a similar color scheme. Flat-screen TVs and air-conditioning are the only standard in-room amenities, as there are extra fees for Wi-Fi (though it’s free in the lobby), mini-fridges, and safes. Most rooms were renovated in the mid-2010s and have laminate floors and contemporary bathrooms with walk-in showers. A few units, however, only received fresh coats of paint and still have plain tiled floors and older shower/tub combos with plastic shower curtains. There have been numerous complaints of poor soundproofing.

Features

Two pools, a decent buffet restaurant, a small fitness center, and entertainment

The hotel has two pools, a large one with music and games during the day, and a quieter one in the rear of the property for those who want to take it easy before a long night out in Sant Antoni. There are two snack bars, one on each pool deck, offering drinks and fast food. For larger meals, the main restaurant serves a decent international buffet in a cafeteria-style space. The hotel also has tennis and multi-sport courts as well as a small, pleasant fitness center with a handful of up-to-date machines. Free Wi-Fi is available in the lobby, but otherwise there is a fee.
