The mid-range Hotel Puchet is an unexpectedly well-equipped and modern property popular with couples and groups of friends. Its located on a quiet street a bit removed from the noise of San Antonio, but this means the beach is an eight-minute walk away and the Sunset Strip is around 25 minutes on foot. The 212 rooms are plain and minimally furnished, but they come with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, free Wi-Fi, and furnished balconies -- though some overlook the road. Catering to a party-oriented crowd, the hotel has a live DJ that spins at the pool a few times per week. The on-site restaurant serves quality food and a poolside bar makes obtaining cocktails easy. This is not a kid-centric hotel, so families should check out the Anfora Playa.
Scene
An unexpectedly modern hotel with laid-back party vibe
The three-story Hotel Puchet sits on a quiet street and has a modern white-stone-and-glass exterior. Attractive details -- such as large plants in Mediterranean-blue planters and a wooden terrace -- at the hotel's entryway add to its curb appeal. The small lobby is minimal on decor, with no art on the walls, crisp beige tiles throughout, and only pops of color in flowers and plants. An outdoor pool deck is similarly minimalist, but has an attractive mix of wood, stone, and mosaic tiling, plus modern white patio furniture. Thanks to cabanas and live DJ sets a few days a week, Hotel Puchet definitely caters most to young friends and couples ready to let loose in Ibiza.
Location
Walk to nearby clubs and restaurants, but will likely need a taxi to Sunset Strip
Guests of Hotel Puchet are on a quiet street removed from the main attractions of San Antonio, though not too far away. The distance to the Sunset Strip and its famous spots are walkable (27 minutes), but previous guests have noted that in the heat of summer the walk can be a bit much; by car, it's a quick eight-minute drive away. There are nearby party options, too, the popular Ocean Beach Ibiza club and Pearl Lounge are both an eight-minute walk from the hotel. There are additionally plenty of restaurants to choose from that are a quick walk away. Restaurante Casa Thai is a two-minute walk away, Surf Lounge Ibiza is seven minutes, and Toni Coques Pasteleria is a quick one-minute walk.
Rooms
Minimal and modern with pops of color
Similar to the reception and lobby area, Hotel Puchet's rooms have a minimalist feel. Comfortably sized rooms have neutral color schemes, as the floor tiles, wood furnishings, and wall color are all a shade of beige. Rooms add a much-needed dose of color in either bright orange or red in the bedding, seat cushions, and occasionally curtains. The red-accented rooms have red-and-white striped bedspreads and curtains that feel a tad busy for the otherwise understated spaces. Furnished balconies can be found in all rooms, too, though some have street views and can hear noise more than others. All balconies are furnished with two plastic chairs and a table. Junior Suites add sofa beds and free minibar refreshments. Also standard are air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, and mini-fridges. Safes are in the closets, but they require a fee. Bathrooms have slight decor differences room to room, but they all come equipped with walk-in showers, hairdryers, and free bath products. It's worth noting that the hotel has accessible rooms.
Features
The pool deck has multiple lounge areas and DJ sets each week
Outside, Hotel Puchet especially shines for a three-pearl hotel. The pool and patio area are big and have free loungers available, plus cabanas for a fee. There are covered lounge areas with wicker furniture for relief from the sun, an outdoor billiards table, and a pool bar that provides drinks (both alcoholic and non) and food. A DJ stand is also on the deck, and performances occur a few times each week. At the entrance of the hotel is a restaurant that offers alfresco dining and ice cream. Inside, the hotel doesn't disappoint either. The buffet dining area is expansive and colorful -- a stark contrast from the lobby. The restaurant is open all day and receives positive reviews. Guests can choose bed-and-breakfast and half-board packages. An on-site supermarket has all the necessities, including clothing food, and alcohol. A game room has multiple entertainment options, and a well-equipped gym offers cardio equipment and weight training facilities. In addition to free (albeit slow) Wi-Fi throughout, there are two computers with internet access on the first floor, as well as two meeting rooms.
