The hotel provides free buffet breakfasts, and the bar has an outdoor terrace that looks out over the beach. Scene

Basic but functional apartment-style hotel overlooking the beach

With Art Deco curves and a whitewashed facade, the Apartamentos La Kiki is a clean and low-frills place across the street from the beach. It's decorated with burnt-umber walls and basic, but functional, furniture made of rattan throughout its restaurant and bar. The bar terrace has great views over the powdery white sands of Playa es Pouet and the Mediterranean beyond, and on the other side of the building, the hotel’s lap pool is set in a large, sunny terrace with a smaller kids’ pool and plenty of loungers. This apartment-style property tends to attract a young crowd looking to drink and dance until dawn. Travelers looking for somewhere tranquil may want to look elsewhere.

Location

Across road from the beach and short bus ride from Ibiza’s nightlife

Barely a minutes’ walk from the soft, white sands of the Playa es Pouet, and a 10-minute bus ride into the town of San Antonio -- home to famous lounge bars and clubs such as Cafe del Mar and Mambos -- the Apartamentos La Kiki is ideally located for traveling wanting both to relax seaside by day and to see some of the world’s top DJs by night. In the other direction, a shopping drag with a number of restaurants and convenience stores is a five-minute walk away. Expect transfers to Ibiza Airport to take 25 minutes by car, or 70 minutes by public transport.

Rooms

Sparsely decorated studio apartments with large terraces and well-equipped kitchenettes

The 30 apartments at the complex are all studios and, much like the shared areas downstairs, they are all low on frills, with whitewashed walls and bare tile floors, but they're functional. Each apartment has two twin beds that can be pushed together to make a double, and a couch that can fold out to sleep two more, as well as a dining table and chairs. The kitchenette has faux-wood cabinets that has seen better days, a stainless-steel countertop, a two-ring burner, microwave, fridge, and kettle, as well as all the usual dishes and cookware. Bathrooms have shower/tub combos with plastic curtains, bidets, and toiletries. All apartments have furnished terraces with either sea or pool pools, as well as air-conditioners, TVs (although some apartments still have old tube-style TVs), and free Wi-Fi. Guests have complained of difficulties getting online, however. Apartments have safes, but guests need to pay to rent keys.

Features

Free buffet breakfast, beach-view bar, and an outdoor pool

The apartment complex’s restaurant serves a free buffet breakfast, with continental and cooked options, and its bar sells drinks and snacks throughout the day and into the night. Outside, there is a large sunny pool terrace with a medium-size pool and a smaller, shallow pool for kids, in addition to many loungers. On the outer side of the hotel is the bar terrace, which provides pleasant views of the beach and Mediterranean. Tucked away in a corner of the bar is a pool table and computer with games. Free parking is offered. The hotel has free Wi-Fi throughout, but guests consistently report difficulties getting online.
