Scene
A sprawling lobby, an old-school lounge, and an upscale restaurant
Situated in a towering brick skyscraper, the Four Seasons Hotel Houston is a bit older than others in the luxury chain but emits an unmistakable upscale vibe, accented by wood-framed stainless-steel glass elements in the restaurant and lobby, plus lounge-style booths and velvety chairs. The lobby lounge is 100 percent nonsmoking, but it's reminiscent of an old-school smoking lounge with low ceilings, poker-style round tables, and a slick black bar. The Quattro restaurant features open quadrants of cuisine with the chefs visible behind stainless steel counters and shelving. The stations range from sushi to soups, a carving station, dessert table, and individually plated gourmet tastings. There's a piano with live ambient music to accompany the evening dining crowd several times a week. A Lavazza coffee station gives a spot for business travelers to grab a quick cup of java in the mornings.
The rooftop pool and patio area is perched on the fourth-floor. The pool occupies a fraction of the space, but the patio resembles a tropical resort, with a number of potted palm trees and surrounded by a brick wall with lovely foliage and fountains. There's also an outdoor bar, several tables and chairs, a lounge and dozens of sun chairs. Food and drink service is available here from morning to evening daily.

The hotel is also within easy walking distance of the convention center (seven minutes away), Toyota Center (five minutes), and Minute Maid Park (11 minutes). Rooms
In a range of sizes, but all have luxurious touches like iHome docking stations and nightly turndown service
Rooms and Suites vary widely in this 404-room hotel. Superior (standard) Rooms include free Wi-Fi, iHome docking stations, DVD/CD players and libraries, nightly turndown service with ice delivered, plush bathrobes, slippers, umbrellas, safes, and minibars. In general, the color scheme in rooms is tastefully neutral with patterned beige rugs, cream-colored cushions, and crisp white bedding. Oversize beds have down duvets and pillows, and bedside lamps with dimmer switches. Suites have separate bedrooms and additional bathrooms, plus large, open living rooms and dining areas that look more like luxury condos than hotel accommodations. They also include plush sofa beds, massive flat-screen TVs, round dining tables, glass-topped cabinetry, and coffee tables plus kitchenettes with microwaves, high-end coffeemakers and large wine/beverage minibars. The one- and two-bedroom Residences might be smaller but have nicer furniture, more artwork (vases, prints, and small sculptures) and full kitchens, including stainless steel full-size refrigerators, ovens, stovetops, microwaves, dishwashers, toasters, and blenders. All bathrooms have marble countertops and floors, plus shower/tub combos. Some rooms have second bathrooms with large glass showers.
Features
Free Wi-Fi, shuttle to nearby locations, rooftop pool and patio, fitness center, spa, and ample meeting rooms
A variety of dining and drinking venues are on site. The hotel’s Quattro restaurant serves gourmet fare (from sushi to carved meats to omelets) for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and hosts live piano music in the evenings. The lobby lounge stays open late, and a coffee shop and outdoor poolside bar serve food and drinks daily from morning to evening. There's also 24-hour room service.
The fitness center is the size of a full-scale gym, equipped with several high-end treadmills, bikes, and weight-training machines, along with water, juice, and fresh fruit. The spa -- which offers a range of body treatments, massages, and facials is connected -- and has a shop selling yoga clothing, luxurious lotions, and bath creams. The hotel also has several attractive meeting rooms, all with high ceilings and enormous windows draped in gauzy curtains. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
Each room features turn-down service and twice-a-day housekeeping. There's a free but limited shuttle service available to guests visiting specific business and shopping areas. Parking is valet-only and subject to a steep nightly rate, but there's much less-expensive self-parking available at the garage next door.
