Temptation Cancun Resort

Only accepting guests 21 and over, Temptation Cancún Resort is a topless-optional all-inclusive hotel that attracts both singles and couples looking for a fun getaway. So what happens at Temptation Resort Cancún? The sexy atmosphere won't appeal to all, but most past guests rave about the staff-led pool activities and nightly risqué entertainment, including lingerie shows, theme nights, and foam parties. As rates are all-inclusive, six bars keep guests' drinks full, and seven restaurants handle any food cravings. Clothing is required at the restaurants, and some guests complain that the dress codes at the nicer eateries are too strict.

Elsewhere on the resort, however, most guests are scantily clad and either participating in the lively fun or seeking tranquility at the Quiet Pool or small beach. More guests are couples than singles, and they tend to be in the 35 to 45 age range, which is a bit younger than the Desire Riviera Maya Pearl Resort and Desire Riviera Maya Resort, both of which are couples-only clothing-optional resorts. The vibe at Temptation is friendly and relaxed.
Renovations completed in 2017 brought a fresh, colorful style and a new Tower building housing guestrooms and Sky 3.5, a rooftop pool and bar. Buildings have white exteriors with colorful purple, pink, green, and yellow accents, while interiors are done in modern, futuristic-looking decor designed with the human body and sensuality in mind. Expect sensual photo murals, silver armchairs, green egg-shaped seats, and bright pops of color throughout.

Travelers wanting a party-minded all-inclusive property without the topless option should consider the Grand Oasis Cancún. On the other hand, couples wanting a clothing-optional resort can look into Desire Riviera Maya Resort, but it's a 40-minute drive south of Cancún's Hotel Zon, and it doesn’t allow singles.

Temptation Cancún Resort is located along a small beach outside of the central Hotel Zone area. A couple of convenience stores, restaurants, and pharmacies are within a short walk, but taxis will be required to reach most points of interest. Nightlife spots like Coco Bongo and Senor Frog's are a 12-minute drive south, while La Isla shopping mall is about a 20-minute drive away. Downtown Cancún can be reached in about 10 minutes by car. Note that taxis can be expensive, but there are buses available to take guests between the resort and night clubs in the hotel zone.

Cancún International Airport is a 30-minute drive from Temptation Cancún Resort. Tulum and its ruins are just under a two-hour drive, and the popular Chichen Itza ruins are two-and-a-half hours away by car.

The 430 guest rooms and suites are divided between the main building and the exclusive Tower (109 rooms) that opened in 2017. All rooms, however, are done in a similar modern style that mimics common areas. Expect a futuristic look consisting of polished surfaces, minimal furniture, and colorful accents in patterned wallpaper, bathroom panels, and rugs. All have floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors that lead to furnished balconies with either garden or ocean views. On the downside, some guests have complained of thin walls and compact bathrooms. Standard amenities include powerful air-conditioning, minibars, coffeemakers, flat-screen TVs, electronic safes, alarm clocks with Bluetooth, bathrobes, slippers, and hair dryers. Bathrooms have rainfall showers and quality toiletries; some units add whirlpools on their terraces.

Tower rooms have free access to the building's rooftop pool and bar, plus they gain additional perks such as free adult TV channels, exclusive access to a VIP sundeck area, VIP check-in and check-out, exclusive room service menu, and a special breakfast.

Temptation Cancún Resort is packed with ample features to keep guests on-site and occupied, whether they're seeking peaceful relaxation or fun entertainment. For the former, the beach area is tranquil and lined with sunbeds, though it's small in comparison to other resorts. Additionally, there's a Quiet Pool with its own swim-up bar and jet features.

Most guests, however, tend to hang around the ocean-view Sexy Pool during the day, as it's bigger and staff run lively activities and entertainment here. Several hot tubs are found throughout, but guests have complained that they close on the early side—7 p.m. during our stay. Those staying in Tower rooms have free access to the building's Sky 3.5 rooftop pool and bar; other guests can pay to use it. A full-service spa offers massage and beauty treatments and multiple pools. Entertainment is offered day and night, from foam parties and lingerie shows to theme nights with DJs. A well-equipped gym and boutique shop are on-site. Limited Wi-Fi is free throughout.

The all-inclusive package covers all Temptation Cancún Resort restaurants, bars, and room service. A la carte eateries serve Mexican, Asian, Italian, and seafood cuisines. An international buffet, coffee bar, sports bar, and grill are also available. Two restaurants require reservations, and most require men to wear pants at dinner. Food across the board receives positive reviews.
