Sleep Inn & Suites Redmond

The three-pearl Sleep Inn is an affordable chain hotel off U.S.-97 across from a shopping center and restaurants, and within a short drive of downtown Redmond. Amenities are extensive, with an indoor pool, hot tub, small fitness center, and free airport shuttle. There’s no full-service restaurant, but the hotel serves a crowd-pleasing free breakfast buffet that features make-your-own waffles and a range of cold items. The 72 guest rooms are spacious and come with flat-screen TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi. Suites with sofa beds are available. Guests looking for a cheaper budget hotel might consider the nearby Motel 6 Redmond, which often has lower rates, but they’re aren’t as many amenities.

APA Hotel Roppongi Ekimae

The biggest selling point of the APA Hotel Roppongi Ekimae is its excellent location in trendy Roppongi. Restaurants, bars, and clubs fill the immediate area, and the Roppongi metro station is a three-minute walk. The two-and-a-half-pearl property has an eye-catching modern lobby and an industrial-chic eatery and bar, but decor in its 125 guest rooms doesn’t follow suit, with a bare-bones look and no hint of style. In-room amenities, however, are a plus, as all units come with 50-inch flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, electric kettles, and free Wi-Fi. Facilities are limited, but there’s a full-service restaurant that serves hot breakfast for an extra charge and Spanish cuisine for lunch and dinner. The hotel’s nearby sister property APA Hotel Roppongi-Itchome-Ekimae is similar in quality but it has coin-op laundry and Italian dining rather than Spanish.

Hotel Desbrull

Hotel Desbrull will appeal to travelers seeking modern, attractive accommodations with traditional charm. The small, two-and-a-half-pearl property set in townhouse in the center of picturesque Pollenca is family-run, and guests can expect individual attention and service. Its six rooms are simple and elegant, with free Wi-Fi and full bathrooms, though there’s little else in the way of amenities. Features are limited too, but a decent breakfast of cold and freshly cooked items is always included in the rate, and it can be taken to cafe tables out front. While it provides a perfectly pleasant base to explore the surrounding area, travelers looking for a similar stay with more amenities can check out the nearby Hotel Son Sant Jordi, which often has higher rates but adds a small spa and pool.

Hotel Boston

The two-and-a-half-pearl Hotel Boston offers comfortable and reasonably priced accommodations in a quiet residential area near Boston College and Boston University. The former Best Western University Hotel also is a short walk to public transit to get downtown, but it’s a 40-minute trip. The property’s 74 guest rooms are nicely equipped with AC, flat-screen TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, and free Wi-Fi, but they’re a bit dark and dated, and bathrooms are on the small side. Suites with kitchenettes and sleeper sofas are available. Amenities are limited to a business center, a free hot breakfast, and free Wi-Fi throughout, and while there’s on-site parking, it costs extra and is pricey. Travelers looking for a step up that’s closer to downtown can compare rates with the Holiday Inn Boston Brookline, which offers a pool, fitness center, and restaurant.
