Rye115 Hotel

For a quaint property with a friendly atmosphere, the two-pearl Hotel Rye is a good pick. It’s best suited to budget-minded tourists, since the guest rooms are simple, but charming and clean, with limited amenities like flat-screen TVs and shared bathrooms. None of the rooms are air-conditioned and kettles are missing, though free coffee and tea are available in the breakfast room all day. The hotel offers a free organic breakfast of cold cuts and pastries, as well as free Wi-Fi. For those who don’t want a 20-minute walk or more to the city center, it’s worth comparing prices at Hotel Christian IV which has similar amenities but a more central Copenhagen location.

Hotel Las Tres Banderas

The budget Hotel Las Tres Banderas feels every bit the 20-year-old hotel that it is with basic amenities and a rough around the edges vibe. Aside from the well-reviewed traditional Polish restaurant, free continental breakfast, outdoor pool, and pet-friendly nature (rare in Manuel Antonio), there’s little to set it apart from the area’s many budget and mid-range alternatives. Most of the 17 rooms feel basic, but do come with flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, and mini-fridges. Suites upgrade to larger layouts with living rooms and kitchenettes/kitchens. It’s about a nine-minute drive to Manuel Antonio National Park. Hotel La Colina offers comparable nightly rates, plus optional ocean views and beautiful grounds.

Posada Nativa Lizard House

The five-room Posada Lizard House is a budget inn located on the main avenue that runs the length of this small island. Guests can walk to town in less than 10 minutes and to the beach in 10 to 15 minutes. Rooms aren’t fancy, but they are colorful and have air-conditioning, fans, flat-screen TVs, and safes. Unfortunately, while all bathrooms are private, they’re small and a bit musty,. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property. A small open-air terrace with hammocks and a few chairs provides a nice hangout spot. This is among the lowest-priced hotels on the island, but features are limited in the extreme. A slightly pricier alternative is the Posada Turistica Colors of the Sea, where rooms are a bit fresher.
