Oa Oa Lodge

The tiny, waterfront Oa Oa Lodge is an eight-room property offering rustic accommodations for a good value in notoriously pricey Bora Bora. Standard Rooms are spacious, colorful, and outfitted with basic kitchens, furnished patios, flat-screen TVs, and fans, but they lack air-conditioning and show wear. A few Overwater Bungalows have great views and an additional single bed, but no cooking facilities. Features are limited to a small ocean-view pool, dive center, and next-door, independently run restaurant, plus reliable free Wi-Fi. Sunsets and views of ships are lovely here, but there’s no denying rooms are in need of a renovation. It’s worth checking out Village Temanuata, which has a pretty private beach and often lower rates, but no pool.

Ipsia Apartments

The two-pearl Ipsia Apartments is set a short walk from Paleokastritsa’s village and some of Corfu’s most beautiful beaches. Despite the coastal location, there’s a countryside feel to the sun-scorched olive groves and lawns here, where 15 studio and apartment rooms offer simple accommodation. Kitchenettes, AC, and furnished balconies, terraces, or private yards make for a comfortable stay, but limited features don’t include any dining options or a pool. Prepare for challenging hill settings, though the resulting views are gorgeous. The Akrotiri Beach Hotel has a pool and restaurant, but it’s pricier.

Ocean Surf Resort

The main highlight of this budget property is its beachfront location that’s within a five-minute walk of restaurants and the Hampton Jitney stop. It’s a simple and modest (but clean) property, and it doesn’t offer many features beyond a gorgeous outdoor pool with an attractive sundeck and sweeping views of the beach. All 26 rooms have kitchenettes with microwaves, two-burner stoves (except Silver Studios) and fridges, plus free Wi-Fi. Many rooms also have beach views, some with private balconies/patios.  Note that upper-floor rooms cost extra and breakfast is not served. Kenny’s Tipperary Inn is a comparable alternative that offers similar amenities and rooms, all with balconies/patios, but it’s not beachfront.

Village Temanuata

The two-pearl Village Temanuata has 11 low-frills rooms and no on-site features, aside from a private section of the stunning Matira Beach near the tip of Bora Bora. All of the bungalows have kitchenettes with microwaves, fans, dining tables, and furnished patios, plus sea views from a couple. Unfortunately, they all are showing wear and lack air-conditioning, TVs, and Wi-Fi, the latter of which can be purchased for a hefty fee, but only accessed right by reception. The front desk can provide water sports or arrange excursions, both for a fee. There’s no restaurant here, but a basic continental breakfast is available for a fee, plus grocery stores and restaurants are nearby. For budget-minded travelers, this is one of the best options, but it’s worth comparing rates with nearby Maitai Polynesia Bora Bora, which has more features.
