Austria Trend Hotel Bosei Wien

It’s easy to see why Austria Trend Hotel Bosei Wien is among Vienna’s best budget choices. Though some of its 195 guest rooms are slightly dated and lack tea/coffee facilities or minibars, they’re clean, pleasant, and equipped with air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and mini-fridges. The hotel offers a restaurant and a bar in an area with few dining options, plus there’s an organic breakfast available for a fee. A quiet atmosphere for meetings and events and free parking make it a suitable choice for business travelers. For tourists, though, there’s little reason to stay in this part of town as its far from the city center and public transportation. For something closer to the center, travelers could consider Austria Trend Hotel Anatol Wien.

Quality Inn

The two-pearl Quality Inn Burbank Airport features rates and a location that are hard to beat for travelers passing through Burbank Airport, which is only a four-minute drive away. The older, motel-style property has exterior corridors, and its 57 rooms are spacious and well-equipped with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, microwaves, and coffeemakers. Several past guests have reported maintenance and housekeeping issues, and noise can be an issue for light sleepers. But there are ample freebies, including breakfast, an airport shuttle, on-site parking, and Wi-Fi. There’s also an outdoor pool and guest laundry room. Travelers who don’t mind spending more can check out Holiday Inn Burbank, which is a major upgrade.

Catamaran Beach Hotel

The lower-middle-range Catamaran Beach Hotel has a good range of facilities, but its dingy and worn appearance is a significant downside. The 46 rooms come with flat-screen TVs, outdoor spaces, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and air-conditioning, but furnishings and fixtures are showing their age, particularly the bathrooms. The highlight here is definitely the outdoor pool with an attached kiddy section and views of the ocean, though guests should expect vendors to come up and try to sell goods. A restaurant and bar are on-site, plus breakfast is included, but food receives mixed reviews. The affordable rates make this an attractive option, but the Paradise Beach Hotel offers a better bang for your buck, as it’s just slightly more expensive.

Hotel Pelican Bay

For budget travelers looking to avoid hostels, Hotel Pelican Bay is a solid option. A quick, one-minute walk from bustling Avenida Charles Darwin, the hotel offers easy access to all of Puerto Ayora’s shops and restaurants. Rooms are small and the decor is basic — think white walls, limp bedding, and tiny bathrooms — but the hotel has its own pool and offers free breakfast and Wi-Fi. It’s not exactly the most scenic property we’ve ever seen, but it’s sufficient for those just looking for a place to sleep. Hotel Fiesta has a nicer property and amenities for comparable nightly rates, but it’s farther from downtown.
