Articles Mentioning Budget

Lui Beach Resort

Lui Beach Resort is a two-and-a-half-pearl hotel that primarily attracts package tourists, many of whom are from Russia. Both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned rooms are available, and all units have balconies or sit-out areas, along with flat-screen TVs and simple bathrooms. The hotel doesn’t offer much in terms of amenities. There is a mid-sized pool with a wading area that’s good for kids, plus a poolside bar and restaurant with all sorts of culinary offerings, including freshly caught seafood. Breakfast is included in room rates and served cooked-to-order, with a few Indian and international options to chose from. Travelers shopping around may also want to check out rates and amenities at the similarly priced Aldeia Santa Rita just around the corner, which offers one-bedroom suite-style rooms.

Hotel La Laguna del cocodrilo

Hotel La Laguna del cocodrilo is a low-key, two-and-a-half-pearl property located on Playa Tamarindo beach. The hotel’s eight rooms and suites are basic but inviting, and some offer private balconies or patios. The direct access to Playa Tamarindo is the property’s stand-out feature, with a little bakery and a quality restaurant further enhancing its appeal. Although there’s no pool and the path to the beach isn’t always easily accessible, La Laguna represents one of the best deals in Tamarindo. Budget travelers may also want to check out Casa Cook, but La Laguna’s rates are usually better.

Hotel Sole Roma

Hotel Sole is a two-pearl historical property that’s a minute’s walk from Campo de’ Fiori. Being so close to the lively square also makes the hotel an ideal jumping off point for exploring other sites in Rome’s historic center, such as the nearby Pantheon and Piazza Navona. Most guests agree that the location is the best feature because rooms tend to be small and there’s not much else here besides continental breakfast for a fee. The slightly dated air of Hotel Sole can be a part of its Italian charm, along with the multi-level internal terrace with rooftop views of the city. As an alternative, Hotel Fontana faces the Trevi Fountain and offers a free breakfast buffet for higher rates.

Tamarindo Hostel Resort

Tamarindo Hostel Resort is a practical, two-pearl property located in the heart of Tamarindo. The hostel’s 16 dorms and private rooms are no-frills but tidy, with all offering AC. There’s an inviting upstairs common area with dining tables and hammocks, plus a sizable shared kitchen — but no pool. The hostel’s atmosphere is relaxed and social, and there are tons of bars and restaurants in the neighborhood for guests looking to party. Budget travelers searching for a property with direct beach access could consider Hotel La Laguna del cocodrilo, though it also lacks a pool.

Splash Inn Dive Resort

Splash Inn is a two-and-a-half-pearl diver’s hotel in Roatan’s West End. Its 25 air-conditioned rooms (some with ocean views) are simple, but charming, with colorful local details plus air-conditioning and cable TVs. The open-air restaurant gets solid reviews and serves seafood and international cuisine, as well as a happy hour. Splash Inn’s big draw is its PADI dive shop, which offers diving packages, certification courses, and dives around the island — snorkeling equipment is free. There’s no pool, but two beaches are a quick three-minute walk from the hotel. Freebies include purified water and Wi-Fi. Alternatively, it’s worth pricing out Anthony’s Key Resort for a dive-focused, all-inclusive stay with a dive and underwater photography shop, a beautiful pool, and free airport transfers, it’s worth pricing out Anthony’s Key Resort.

Hotel Golf Beach

The Hotel Golf Beach is a 36-room budget hotel located in the center of Santa Ponsa and five minutes’ walk from its sandy bay. Despite the name, the hotel doesn’t really have any connection to golfing, and the local course is hardly accessible on foot. The property is, however, clean and well-maintained with a sunny swimming pool area and bar/restaurant that serves all-day breakfast for an added charge. Guest rooms are certainly basic. They lack air-conditioning and TVs, though the rooms are spacious and all open to balconies. Rock-bottom rates make this one of the best deals in town. For renovated rooms and beach access, the Apartamentos Portofino y Sorrento also provides a good budget option.
