Harbour Ville Hotel
With rates more commonly found at hostels, the two-and-a-half pearl Harbour Ville Hotel offers a good value, though there are a few tradeoffs. Its 100 rooms are small, simple, and clean, and each includes a smartphone that’s ready to use with unlimited data (you can make free local and international calls as well). The property far from the city center, but popular south-side destinations like Sentosa are within a 10-minute drive. A small gym and laundry room are the only extras, and there are no dining options except a mini-takeaway counter at reception for items like instant noodles and cold canned drinks. Harbour Ville works if you don’t want to break the bank, but those seeking a pool and restaurant may prefer the pricier Bay Hotel nearby.
Hostel Diana Park
The two-pearl Hostel Diana Park is one of the best budget options in the city. It’s got a great central location close to tons of restaurants and bars, and it’s a five-minute walk to the Design Museum. Dorms that are included in the property’s 15 units show wear, but all spaces are still attractive, with fun bedding and some have dark parquet floors. They range in size from private singles to mixed and female-only to dorms that sleep up to eight people. All have in-room sinks and most private rooms have flat-screen TVs, but none have en-suite bathrooms, and there’s no AC. Breakfast isn’t included, but there’s a well-equipped communal kitchen. Travelers looking for stay with a restaurant can consider Eurohostel, but it isn’t as centrally located.
Hotel Adriatic
Hotel Adriatic, an 108-guest room, seaside budget hotel, is a 1960s relic that’s dated but exceptionally well-located, just a minute’s walk from the beach, though outside of Dubrovnik’s Old Town. The best rooms are on the upper floors facing the sea, featuring balconies and newer furniture. Other units are less well-maintained, with worn furniture and dated floral accents. In-room amenities are limited across the board — AC, Wi-Fi (sometimes slow), and old tube-style TVs are about all guests can expect. A decent, free hot breakfast is served in the hotel’s sea-view restaurant across the street, and half-board dining options are available. Travelers looking for more in-room and on-site amenities can consider the nearby Hotel Splendid, but it’s also dated, and pricier.
