Hotel Pearl Palace
Conveniently located just south of Jaipur Railway Station, Hotel Pearl Palace is a charming budget hotel that in many ways feels more like a mid-range boutique property. The 30 rooms here range from basic dorm rooms (guests can rent out whole dorms or just single beds) to snazzy and spacious air-conditioned Deluxe Rooms. Features include free Wi-Fi, clothing and jewelry shops, and laundry service, but the hotel’s most attractive feature by far is its gorgeous Peacock Rooftop Restaurant, a two-story terrace restaurant with a large menu as well as room service. The hotel also offers free pick-ups from the bus and train stations, saving first-time visitors a lot of potential hassle. Travelers may also want to consider Sunder Palace Guest House nearby, which has similar amenities and is a tad mellower.
Wine Valley Lodge
The budget Wine Valley Lodge offers budget-minded travelers affordable, no-frills accommodations within a short drive of downtown Napa. The motel-style property has been around since 1953, and it has some celebrity attached, with past guests including Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe. Its 53 guest rooms are tidy and comfortable, but dated with worn-out furniture. All units contain AC, flat-screen TVs, microwaves, and mini-fridges, but there are no kettles. Freebies include parking, continental breakfast, and Wi-Fi throughout, and there’s also a pleasant heated outdoor pool. Rates are among the cheapest in the notoriously expensive town. Travelers looking for a stay that’s a step up who don’t mind paying more can consider Best Western Elm House Inn, but there’s no pool.
