Hotel Accord

The 37-room Hotel Accord is a budget option located in Santacruz East, close to the airport and train station. The hotel provides free transportation to and from the airport, which makes it convenient for travelers passing through. Rooms here are a mix of run-down units and those that are a bit more modern, but all are air-conditioned and have free Wi-Fi. The more pleasant rooms feature bamboo furniture and tribal art, and add mini-fridges, electric kettles, and snack baskets. Breakfast is free, and although the hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant, room service is offered around the clock. A lovely rooftop terrace is a nice place for hanging out, though the area isn’t exactly scenic. As an alternative, the Midland Hotel next door is similarly priced and appointed.

Florence Dome Hotel

Funky design, good value, and a great location two blocks from the Duomo define Florence Dome Hotel – a modern, well-maintained budget option in the city center. The 10 rooms are simple, but come with small welcome gifts and basic necessities like en-suite bathrooms, effective soundproofing, and free Wi-Fi. Half have views to the Duomo. Kid-friendly facilities attract families, and the free breakfast buffet is a well-presented spread that includes gluten-free options and hot items. Other freebies include welcome refreshments, along with a daily afternoon tea and snacks. A cozy lounge and paid valet parking round out features. For quirky design and a location that’s even closer to the Piazza del Duomo, try Rodo Hotel Fashion Delight instead — but be prepared to pay a premium for the location.

La Casona De Rimacpampa

La Casona De Rimacpampa is an attractive two-pearl hotel set on a plaza on the edge of Cusco’s old town. It’s a great base for those happy to explore on foot, with attractions and transportation both within a 10-minute walk. This property has a dash real rustic charm, with a pretty interior courtyard and huge wall murals of historic scenes. It’s popular with families and groups, and the 14 rooms include two-story Family Rooms, and all feature en-suite bathrooms, heating, and free Wi-Fi. The free buffet breakfast is well-liked by previous guests. It’s a great little find for those not looking for anything too polished. Guests might like to compare rates with Amaru Hostal, which has a similar traditional style and rooms that are a touch less worn.

Calista Organic Hotel

The lower-middle-range Calista Organic Hotel is simple and clean, though the exposed-brick property has little to offer aside from the 28 stylish rooms, all available in just one variety. Although they’re small and don’t have air-conditioning or hairdryers, they do come with kitchenettes with microwaves and mini-fridges. The hotel’s located a 20-minute walk from tourist-friendly neighborhoods like Chinatown and Union Square, but is within fast walking distance from the Financial District. Other than airport transfers and off-site parking options (both for fees), amenities are extremely limited. However, the hotel is a relatively affordable option for travelers who are looking for a central location and don’t mind the lack of frills. For slightly higher rates, Hotel Cartwright Union Square’s historic property includes a cozy lobby, and it’s closer to downtown San Francisco.
