There are 38 rooms at the historic, four-pearl Ickworth Hotel, which is set on 1,800 sprawling acres of peaceful Suffolk countryside. Most guests come here to unwind and there are a good number of features to help them in that, including spa treatments, sophisticated restaurants, and extensive child-friendly activities. That being said, there isn't really anything else to do within an easy walk of the hotel. Guest rooms are elegantly classic, and have free Wi-Fi, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and fabulous views over the grounds. Those wanting to be in the center of Bury St. Edmunds should check out The Angel Hotel as an alternative, which is a chic Georgian property next to the cathedral.
