This 857-room behemoth is a favorite among business travelers, thanks to its location next to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It's also near the Wan Chai MTR station, Central neighborhood, and the Star Ferry landing. It boasts gorgeous views from its upscale rooms and wonderful restaurants, and offers great features such as a fitness center (located in the hotel next door), extensive meeting space with natural light, a Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurant, and stylish, contemporary rooms with glass-enclosed bathrooms. However, there are a few downsides to this otherwise great hotel -- namely, fees for Wi-Fi and parking, hard mattresses, and long waits by the elevators.
Location
In Wan Chai neighborhood, next to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, and within walking distance to public transportation and nightlife
The hotel is located right by the water, in the same complex as the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and a couple of other hotels and office buildings. There is a wide array of restaurants and bars to choose from in the immediate neighborhood, and there are a couple of good nightlife spots nearby. This location is especially convenient for business travelers, but those in town for the sights can easily get to major attractions both in Hong Kong Island and Kowloon. The hotel is located a block from the ferry to Kowloon, and a few minutes’ walk on a covered bridge to the Wan Chai MTR station.
It is also a few minutes from Central neighborhood, the city’s main business hub. Its skyline is defined by tall glass-and-steel buildings and has a modern look, but some buildings from the neighborhood's past as a former British colony and military port remain. Many tourists stay in or visit Central; its mix of modern and historic is appealing, and there are plenty of sights to take in.
