Tropicana Beach Hotel
Gumbet Mah. Dolgu Mevki Dayilar Sok

The lower-middle-range Tropicana Beach Hotel is a bright and welcoming family-run hotel with a beautiful private beach situated just across the street. The hotel is conveniently located within a five- to 10-minute beachfront walk of Gumbet's lively bar scene, but far enough away to feel quiet and peaceful. The large pool is surrounded by sunbeds and beach umbrellas, and serviced by three adjacent bars. The 52 guest rooms range from studios to simple one-bedroom apartments, all with charming wrought-iron balconies. Furnishings are dated, but rooms are clean and mostly spacious. For something with more features, the Bodrum Beach Resort has three pools -- one with waterslides -- and slightly more contemporary rooms.

Magnific Hotel
Zengin Huseyin Sokak, No 9

This value all-inclusive resort is one of the best options in budget-oriented Gumbet, and is located along the beach and conveniently close to Gumbet's bustling bar and nightlife scene (so close you can hear it from the rooms). The 176-room hotel has a freeform outdoor pool with a lush central island and a wooden walking bridge, surrounded by a deck and multiple outdoor restaurant terraces covered by sail canopies. Its pleasant grounds and modern design are upsides, but the rooms fall short for a property billed as a four-star -- with tube-style TVs, built-in wood furniture, cramped floor space, and dated bathrooms with tiny shower stalls. A spa with a Turkish bath that includes aromatherapy; a fitness center; and water sports, are noteworthy additions, but travelers could also consider the Tropicana Beach Hotel across the bay, which has lower rates, as an alternative.

Bodrum Beach Resort
Osman Nuri Bilgin Cad. No 37

Bodrum Beach Resort is a mid-range, all-inclusive resort with a convenient location, a few minutes' walk from the sandy beach on Gumbet Bay and about a 10-minute walk from the nightlife on hopping bar street. Those looking to stay put for their entire vacation may be disappointed, as this is a small resort with hit or miss food; many guests report dining off-site for some meals, despite the all-inclusive rates. There are three swimming pools, including one with water slides, a kids' club (not always open or staffed), and short evening shows. The 220 rooms have a few modern elements and some even offer sea-view balconies, but are basic overall and mold in the bathroom can be an issue. The Turkish bath and massage center are high points. This is one of Gumbet's cheaper all-inclusive options, and guests should adjust expectations accordingly. The Parkim Ayaz Hotel is a better all-inclusive pick with direct beach access and waterslides, but it's often pricier.

Royal Arena Resort & Spa Hotel Bodrum
Gumbet Mah. No:73

Royal Arena Resort & Spa is a convenient all-inclusive for the party set who want to be close to Gumbet's nightlife, but anyone expecting to be wowed by the hotel's advertised five-star rating will likely be disappointed by the mediocre amenities and atmosphere. At most, the hotel is a three-and-a-half pearl property, with an average outdoor pool with a kiddy section, a fitness center, and an aging spa. The 134 rooms have flat-screen TVs and mini-fridges, but the furniture is worn and guests have complained about the housekeeping. Travelers looking for nearby alternatives could consider the nearby Royal Palm Beach Hotel, or, for slightly higher rates, the Royal Asarlik Beach, which has a beach and offers water sports.

Royal Asarlik Beach
Adnan Menderes Cad. Ethem Kaptan Sokak No.4

The upscale Royal Asarlik Beach sits on a bend in the bay, making it stand out from other resorts in Gumbet with its two distinct private beaches. Its an all-inclusive with a huge buffet restaurant that has a rooftop terrace overlooking the ocean, along with four other restaurants, though some are only open seasonally. Its removed from the tourist crowds but still close to Gumbet's nightlife and entertainment, and it also has plenty of its own with seven bars and cocktail lounges. The 351 rooms offer two different styles, both modern with furnished balconies, but neither have in-room Wi-Fi. Travelers, especially those with children in tow, should compare rates with the nearby WOW Bodrum Resort, which has a pool with waterslides, and free Wi-Fi throughout.

Green House Apart Hotel
Gumbet Mah. Adnan Menderes Cad. No 33

The budget-oriented Green House Apart Hotel, even though it's not on the beach, is one of the most popular in Gumbet for its affordable rates and relaxed atmosphere. It has two outdoor pools, both with adjacent kiddy pools, and plenty of loungers packed onto its stone sundecks. It's in walking distance to the beach and the town's nightlife scene, and hosts its own regular entertainment -- including karaoke -- in an open-air bar. Its 36 rooms are dated, and are more akin to what would be found in a country house than a hotel in the middle of a beach resort -- some units are split-level with kitchenettes, and all have balconies. While Wi-Fi is free, it's available only in the public areas, and air-conditioning comes with a fee. For a similarly priced alternative on the beach, consider the Tropicana Beach Hotel across the bay.
