Located in a restored 19th century building, Suites Gran Via 44 is a charming boutique. The exterior is a bit unassuming, but once inside, the decor is sleek and clean. The property has an air of history but is decorated in a modern style. There is a spiral staircase with wrought iron rails. A "chill out" lounge downstairs has a computer, TV, coffee/tea, DVDs, books, and comfortable couches. There is no restaurant or bar, and therefore no nightlife scene, but the property still has a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Central Granada location
The Suites Gran Via 44 is conveniently located on a busy street in the center of the Granada. There are numerous shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants within a five to 10-minute walk. It is close to the Cathedral, the Royal Chapel, and other tourist attractions. The Alhambra is about one mile uphill -- a bit too strenuous a walk for most -- but buses and trains are about a 10-minute walk away. The airport is close by as well, only a 10-minute taxi ride. Taxis are easy to get here and the front desk is helpful in arranging transportation. Due to traffic regulations in the area, private vehicles aren't allowed. If you require a car, you will need to pay a fee and arrange for permission in advance. Given how easy it is to get around without one, it's best not to bother.

The modern rooms are all one- and two-bedroom apartment-style suites with kitchens, living rooms, and a Japanese toilet (a type of bidet-style toilet). Each of the four suite types is different in color, scheme, and decor -- all are named after local various herbs. All rooms have a minibar, refrigerator, dishes and cutlery, memory foam mattresses, and safes. The rooms overlooking the Gran Via have a better view, but get more street noise. If peace is more important to you than views, ask for a room off the Gran Via, or on a high floor.

There is no restaurant or bar on-site, but a good number of restaurants and bars are located within a few blocks. There is a fitness center, meeting room, small computer station, and comfortable lounge. While there is no spa, the front desk (which conveniently is staffed 24 hours a day) will arrange for the services of a masseuse. At least once a week they offer a snack and movie night for kids.
