Bottom Line

This 25-room boutique hotel occupies a beautiful 16th-century home on a narrow, cobblestone street. Its location near the heart of Granada is both quiet and convenient, and it's walking distance to the sights and to restaurants and bars (handy as there's no on-site dining beyond the breakfast buffet). Rooms are small but outfitted in elegant decor, and there’s free Wi-Fi, afternoon tea, and a pretty little courtyard. It's a truly beautiful and eclectic place to stay, but its lack of pool and restaurant may deter some potential guests.

Scene

An exquisite, elegant spot in a charm-filled historical home

The sister property of a hotel by the same name in Seville, this boutique hotel is housed in a 16th-century structure that once served as the headquarters of the local militia. The renovated building is at the end of a narrow, cobblestone street and centers around a small but beautiful courtyard where breakfast and afternoon tea are served. Its chandeliers and sleek, classic furniture echo the gorgeous wood of the building and highlight the classical and Mudejar architectural elements of the original house, which include archways and a winding staircase. The vibe is elegant and refined, and browns, tans, and golds predominate.

Location

Within walking distance of the historic center of Granada

This picturesque hotel is tucked away on a cul-de-sac off Plaza Nueva in the historic Albaicin neighborhood. Its location in central Granada between Albaicin and at the foot of the Alhambra make it a handy base from which to explore Granada. Museums, monuments, shops, restaurants, and tapas bars abound in the nearby streets. It's a 10-minute walk to Granada Cathedral and a five-minute stroll to the Arabic Baths. Granada Railway Station is a six-minute drive from the hotel.

Rooms

Small but handsome rooms, with classic decor and free Wi-Fi

Rooms here are snug, but pretty. All are decorated in a neutral, calming color palette of beige, gold, and white, which complements the building’s elegant classical architecture. Beds are generously sized and comfy, with grand, gilded headboards and soft linens. Most of the 25 rooms have windows overlooking the building’s inner courtyard, although some rooms have views of the stunning Alhambra. Mineral water and Wi-Fi are free, and each room has a flat-screen TV, a minibar, and slippers. Bathrooms are small and come with bidets and cabin showers. Some rooms have brick walls and exposed beams, which gives them a rustic feel.

Features

Free afternoon tea and snacks in a gorgeous courtyard

Every afternoon, free tea and snacks are served in the hotel’s delightful Andalusian courtyard. There’s free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel as well as a business center with a single computer. There’s no restaurant, but the hotel offers a small breakfast buffet of fresh fruits, meats, and breads.
