Bottom Line
The 232-room Servatur Green Beach is a relaxed, mid-range aparthotel with an upmarket vibe thanks to its modern decor and well-maintained interiors. It’s not near any popular resort towns, but the seafront location and direct beach promenade access are major draws. Apartments are clean, and all have separate bedrooms and living areas, plus west-facing furnished balconies (most with sea views). Wi-Fi is free, but there’s no air conditioning. Outside, there's a heated pool with a poolside bar and ample sun beds. There’s also a rooftop sun deck with a whirlpool, and the decent buffet restaurant offers half- and full-board plans. Live entertainment takes place every evening, and Wi-Fi is free throughout. For an aparthotel that's closer to nightlife, try Servatur Montebello, just keep in mind that it's not nearly as fresh.

Attractively modern mid-range option with a relaxed atmosphere, draws a variety of international guests
Servatur Green Beach is a pleasant and relaxed mid-range aparthotel with a seafront location on Gran Canaria’s sunny south coast. At 232 apartments, it’s quite large, but the hotel never feels too crowded -- save the buffet restaurant at peak meal times. The reception area is light and breezy, with a baby blue color scheme and panoramic views over the bay and sea. Marble floors and marble columns, which connect the central atrium to the mezzanine floor above, are immaculate and well maintained, giving the hotel a more polished feel than some of its three-pearl competitors.
The landscaped pool area also draws the lion's share of guests during their stay here. Any games or activities are held at the poolside bar instead, creating a convenient noise buffer and allowing the pool to remain peaceful. Due to the hotel's location far from any nightlife, it may not suit guests expecting quick access to busy streets and lively evenings. Instead, the setting is better suited to those who enjoy tranquility and beautiful seascapes. We saw a mix of guests of all ages here, including families and couples. The hotel accommodates a lot of Scandinavians in the winter, and during the summer you're likely to be joined by Germans, British, and local Canarians tourists.
Location
On the seafront and just a two-minute walk to Patalavaca Beach
Servatur Green Beach has a seafront location with direct access to the beach promenade, although it isn’t close to any of the island's popular resort towns. Patalavaca Beach is just a two-minute walk from the property, where there are a good handful of restaurants and bars. On Tuesdays, a local market selling handicrafts and local produce opens up in Arguineguin, a quaint fishing village that's a 10-minute walk away. Picturesque Anfi Beach can be reached via a pretty pedestrian-only promenade in about 20 minutes. Puerto Rico -- the nearest busy resort town -- is 10 minutes away by car, while the airport is a 30-minute drive from the property.
Rooms
Clean and modern one-bedroom apartments with sofa beds, balconies, and free Wi-Fi, but no AC
All 232 apartments of this hotel are well-maintained, modern, and have one bedroom (with a maximum capacity of four). Expect a bright and cheery blue-and-yellow beachside theme, with sharp light wood accents and simple coastal details in the artwork. Apartments are clean, and some feel brand new. All have separate living areas with a flat-screen TV, sofa beds, small kitchenettes, and furnished west-facing balconies or terraces that catch the afternoon sun. Apartments on the ground floor have pool or garden views, while those on the upper floors have direct sea views. Kitchens have a clean-lined look and come with free welcome bottles of water, two stovetops, microwaves, toasters, tea kettles, and coffee machines. Bathrooms are fairly modern, and all have showers. Although there isn’t any air conditioning, guests can rent fans from reception. The good Wi-Fi connection is free, but other amenities including safe access and international satellite channels cost extra. Many past guests have noted that noise does tend to travel between apartments, despite the hotel's otherwise quiet setting.
Features
Huge pool with separate kids’ pool, two bars, buffet restaurant, rooftop whirlpool, and evening entertainment
Servatur Green Beach’s extensive pool area is its main attraction. It's surrounded by pretty landscaped gardens and a vast array of sun beds stretching all across the grounds. The area also has a large heated pool and separate kids’ pool, plus a poolside bar that serves light bites and a massage station with Swedish massage specialists. The chill-out area at one end is a chic space, with astroturf, sun beds, and stylish garden furniture. There isn’t any hosted recreation by the pool, but this allows for tranquility that's rare among the island’s southern hotels. There’s live music every evening (either at the poolside bar or piano bar depending on the season), as well as games and activities.
The buffet restaurant -- an airy space with direct sea views -- is on the top floor of the hotel, serves a good variety of dishes, and offers half- and full-board meal plans. Depending on the season, it sometimes offers a la carte-style dinners (usually in winter). There’s also a sunny rooftop terrace with sun beds and a whirlpool, and a small mini-mart stocks basic goods. The free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel is fairly speedy by Gran Canarian standards. Unfortunately, there’s no private parking, and the street parking situation is currently up in the air pending new regulations from the council (as of 2017).
