The Sea View Hotel is a mid-range property with 71 rooms in the suburb of Glyfada, across the highway from the beach, and within walking distance of clubs and restaurants, on the Athens Riviera. All rooms have furnished balconies and flat-screen TVs; higher-priced rooms come with jetted tubs, bathrobes, and slippers. Most bathrooms, however, are small with little counter space. There is a seasonal outdoor pool and a restaurant. Breakfast is included with some packages and Wi-Fi comes with a daily fee, but off-site parking is free.
Scene
A modern, chic, beach-style hotel
Floor-to-ceiling windows create a bright impression upon entering the lobby. Plush tan couches, black rocking chairs, and flowing curtains exude a beachy vibe, while black tile floors and coffered ceilings temper it with style and refinement. There’s a good mix of fabrics and patterns, along with seagull artwork and seaside trinkets, throughout. The Sea View's restaurant has vintage Greek art hanging on its walls, and white/gray tile and wood columns accent the light-wood tables. Flowers and candelabras add elegance and color, and another set of floor-to-ceiling windows bring in plenty of natural light. An attached outdoor bar has an overhanging awning, plus plants and cushy seating, all contributing to the Sea View's airy, comfortable, and stylish vibe.
Location
In an Athens suburb, across the highway from the beach
The hotel is directly off the main highway (Poseidonos) on a residential street. It’s within walking distance of trendy clubs, restaurants, and shops, as well as Asteria Beach (private with entrance fee) and Glyfada Sports Center. Public transportation is less than a two-minute walk from the hotel, but central Athens and its major attractions are at least a 25-minute drive or a one-hour metro ride away. Nearby off-site parking is free.
Rooms
Contemporary with rattan furniture; higher-priced rooms have jetted tubs and other perks
Rooms, like the rest of the hotel, have a beachy but refined design, with light fabrics and woods complementing cozy armchairs. Calm neutral tones define the space, with lovely wood floors and a bit of artwork. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide light and lead to furnished balconies. Rattan furniture, striped wallpaper in various shades, and woven mirrors mix the sand-motif with sophistication. All rooms have stocked minibars, air-conditioning, and flat-screen TVs. Higher-priced rooms come with bathrobes and slippers, and jetted tubs. Most of the bathrooms are small and lack counter space, and have shower/tub combos. Some have been updated to include white bowl sinks and tan countertops. All rooms come with Aroma Sensations toiletries.
