Bottom Line

The mid-range Palymra Beach Hotel is in a convenient location down the block from a long, sandy beach and within walking distance to several restaurants and shops. Some of the 52 rooms are in need of a renovation with worn carpeting and dated furnishings, although others have a soft, modern look. There’s a pretty
outdoor pool area surrounded by stone walls and the hotel has a restaurant
on-site serving a buffet breakfast. Guests wiling to spend a little more may also want to consider the Palace Hotel -- it has a posh pool area and a convenient location across from the beach.

Scene

Leafy entrance and classic lobby in a seaside hotel popular with vacationers

There
are plenty of plants and evergreen trees in front of the Palmyra Beach Hotel,
making for a natural, leafy entrance. Inside, the lobby is classic and bright, with
homey striped couches and wooden tables. Wicker chairs provide a spot for lounging. Like most hotels in the area, the majority of guests are vacationers looking for seaside fun and relaxation rather than corporate guests.

Location

Short walk to beach, restaurants, and shops

The Palmyra Beach Hotel is on the corner of a busy highway and
a quiet, leafy street in the seaside suburb of Glyfada, a 20-minute drive south of central Athens. It’s down
the block from the beach and a short walk to the heart of Glyfada where guests
can find restaurants, shops, and bars as well as bus stops and a tram station. Piraeus Port, the main ferry port for accessing the Greek Islands, and the Athens International Airport are each around
a 25-minute drive away. The hotel also operates a min-bus that runs to the airport (for a fee).

Rooms

A mix of rooms, some updated and some in need of renovations

The Palmyra Beach Hotel offers a mix of older, worn rooms and recently renovated rooms, the latter of which have a soft
look with white walls, dark wooden floors, cushiony white headboards, and modern bathrooms with glass showers. Older rooms are in need of an
update and have worn patterned carpeting and generic framed
artwork. All rooms include free Wi-FI, mini-fridges, flat-screen TVs, and coffee/tea-making  facilities. Tiled balconies are furnished with tables and chairs and have
pretty views of the leafy lawn.

Features

Pretty outdoor pool area with bar, restaurant serving buffet meals, and conference facilities

Drinks are available at the long, wooden bar in the lobby, and there’s a table with a computer where guests can access the Internet. Outside is a pretty pool area enclosed with vine-covered stone walls and surrounded by plastic lounge chairs. A pool bar serves drinks, but some guests have complained of the pool area closing early. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served buffet style at the Belvoir Restaurant. Two large conference rooms are also available for rent and come equipped with audiovisual equipment. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel.
