The chic on-site Bo'Vine Steak Restaurant is dimly lit, with red and cream leather seating, varnished wooden floors, and a scattering of cow-inspired artwork. Bobar, the on-site bar, is modern and funky, serving cocktails from lunchtime until late in the evening, with slate tiles and cozy booths decorated in shades of gray. Both venues are popular with locals as well as hotel guests, who include plenty of business travelers, plus couples and families.

The Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel is in the heart of the West End, conveniently located within walking distance of the Mackintosh House and the Hunterian Museum, Scotland's oldest public museum. The hotel is a two-minute walk to the Glasgow Botanic Gardens, with some rooms featuring garden views. The closest underground is Hillhead Subway, a five-minute walk from the hotel, and guests arriving by air are a 20-minute drive from Glasgow Airport. For a local tipple, the Oran Mor is a versatile venue located a two-minute walk away, housed in a former parish church, complete with a whisky bar, restaurant, live music space, and nightclub. Byres Road, a one-minute walk from the hotel, is the West End's main strip for eateries, bars, and shopping. For fine dining, the Ubiquitous Chip is a six-minute walk from the hotel, and comes recommended as one of Glasgow's top restaurants. Access to the city center sights will require a taxi or subway ride, the former taking about 15 minutes and the latter just a bit longer. 

The Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor Hotel has 97 rooms, some with views of the Glasgow Botanic Gardens. All rooms feature large flat-screen TVs with free cable channels, ironing facilities, hair dryers, in-room safes, and electric kettles. Room decor is contemporary and appealing, with thoughtful design features such as mounted reading lights, padded headboards, ample storage for guest luggage, and black-out curtains. Rooms have mottled gray walls and sharp gray carpets with striking ring patterns plus contemporary dark wood furniture. Bathrooms have dark granite counters and floors, shower/tub combos, bathrobes, high-end toiletries, and plenty of vanity space. For an extra splash of cash, King Hilton Suites include free wine, dining areas, and bidets.

This Hilton features Bo'Vine, an on-site steak restaurant with appealing, modern design that draws locals and hotel guests. The hotel's bar, which was fully renovated after our visit, serves cocktails, beer, and wine until late and is an equally stylish place for a drink. Room service is also available, as is breakfast, though it's not free. Business guests are well catered for with printing, faxing, photocopying, and mail services available via reception, which is staffed 24 hours a day. The hotel is set up to host and cater corporate meetings, festive events, and wedding ceremonies and receptions, with a maximum capacity of 280 people in its largest on-site venue. There is a pesky fee for Wi-Fi and parking. Guests willing to undertake a 15-minute drive have free access to the indoor pool and fitness facilities at this hotel's sister property, the Hilton Glasgow Hotel. Dry cleaning and laundry services can be arranged and the building has an elevator. Pets are allowed but subject to fees and restrictions.
