Scene

A historic hotel that’s retained its classic style

Guests enter the beautiful historic building and immediately walk into a large lobby with a grand feel. Original window bays and antique stucco are nice features that have been maintained. The walls are marble, the front desk is a deep wood, and there are elegant seating areas. A grand staircase leads to the hotel’s other floors (as does an old-fashioned exposed elevator). The Winter Garden Sitting Room leads to a beautiful terrace overlooking the city.

Location

Opposite the Genoa Principe Train Station, near the Old Port

The hotel is conveniently located not far from the historic center of Genoa where the beautiful Old Port and ancient harbor is located. It is right by the famed Aquarium of Genoa, the largest in Europe. Palazzo Ducale, Genoa’s Congress Center, and Albertis Castle are also nearby. The Piazza Principe Train Station is a short walk from the hotel, easily connecting guests with Genoa via public transportation. There are lots of narrow streets filled with restaurants, bars, and shops.

Rooms

Simple rooms with modern amenities and small bathrooms

The warm and comfortable rooms convey a homey, welcoming atmosphere. They are decorated with wood floors and furniture. Modern amenities include flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, safes, and kettles for tea and coffee. Small bathrooms have free bath products, hair dryers, and bidets. The rooms are available in classic, executive, and suite categories. The suite includes a fully equipped kitchen and dining table, making it ideal for families on vacation. All of the rooms have beautiful views of the city.

Features

Amenities include a restaurant and access to an adjacent hotel (for a fee)

Trattoria Tralalero is a traditional Genoese trattoria featuring local cuisine. Red-checkered tablecloths line the tables and the walls are painted a rust color. Most noticeable is a fabric canopy lining the ceiling that resembles the sails on a boat. Due to a deal the owner has with the Grand Hotel Savoia, guests benefit from a few of the other hotel’s facilities (for a fee). This includes a fitness center, spa, meetings rooms, and the Salgari Restaurant. Unique views of the historic center of Genoa can be seen from this hotel's terrace.
