Scene
High-rise hotel with stylish furnishings and extensive meeting facilities
The 25-story Leonardo Royal Hotel Frankfurt is an affordable high rise that offers panoramic views of the city’s skyline and a large conference center that makes it popular with business travelers. The hotel was reportedly one of the first skyscrapers to be built in Sachsenhausen, the highest terrain in Frankfurt. A bright red Leonardo Royal sign hangs at the hotel’s entrance, accessible via a circular driveway that wraps around a small island with shrubbery and a modern sculpture. The stylishly furnished lobby features plush gold and red furniture, wooden and marble flooring, a chandelier, brown-and-white patterned wallpaper, and a laptop workstation with purple stools. There's also a stylish wooden staircase and three elevators. The conference center offers 21 contemporary meeting rooms that can fit up to 420 people. Most rooms provide natural light, with the exception of the Congress Hall. The two-story Tower Room is located on the top floor and has panoramic views, a bar, and a dance floor. Audiovisual equipment, flip charts, lecterns, and stage lights are available.
Location
Situated south of Frankfurt’s Main River
The hotel’s location is slightly isolated from Frankfurt’s city center, although guests can take a bus into town from right outside of the hotel. The journey takes around half an hour. The hotel sits beside a cemetery, just south of the Main River. The Museum Embankment -- with 15 riverside museums -- is a 10-minute drive away, as is the Goethe House. The Congress Center Messe Frankfurt takes closer to 15 minutes (or around 40 minutes by public transportation). It’s 25 minutes on the S-Bahn to the MyZeil shopping center and the Frankfurt Zoo is a 37-minute S-Bahn ride. Driving to the airport takes about 15 minutes.
Rooms
Contemporary rooms featuring flat-screen TVs, pops of color, and balconies with sprawling views
The Leonardo offers Suites, Comfort Rooms, and Executive Rooms, most of which feature striped carpeting, light wood furniture, and pops of red accent decor. Walls are bare save for some black-and-white prints of Frankfurt landmarks, making rooms feel unfinished. Rooms offer narrow balconies with city views, flat-screen TVs, air-conditioning, mini-fridges, bathrobes, kettles, safes, and trouser presses or irons. Guests are welcomed with plates of fresh fruit. Bathrooms provide standard fixtures and shower/tubs combos or walk-in showers. Smoking rooms and two wheelchair accessible rooms are also available. Executive Rooms have free newspapers and sofa beds, as well as more modern bathrooms than those in the Comfort category. Suites offer rotating flat-screen TVs, sitting areas, living rooms with additional flat-screen TVs, and wraparound balconies.
