The Best Western Plus Oceanside Inn is geared toward budget-minded travelers seeking a clean, mid-range hotel in Fort Lauderdale that’s in close walking distance to the beach. Though it was built in 1972, the hotel received renovations to many of its common areas in 2015, and feels quite fresh for a typical budget chain hotel in Florida. A large outdoor pool, at the center of the five-floor hotel, features turquoise lounge chairs, rock fountains, and a shower on the brick-lined deck that’s partially shaded by palms. A wheelchair lift is also on the deck. The second floor sundeck, accessible via a staircase by the pool, offers more lounge chairs, umbrellas, and comfy patio furniture. A small gym -- with modern equipment and a flat-screen TV -- is also in the hotel.
