The no-frills setting is visible from the get-go, with minimal furnishings in the small lobby -- think mismatched wood and black seating. Although, there are a red tufted period chair, bookcase with free-to-borrow novels, and a mirror where guests are encouraged to take a selfie add some character. Note that there's no elevator, and the front desk isn't staffed 24/7, though access is easy with a code. Framed paintings in downstairs hallways are pretty, as the building is shared with residential apartments.
