Moov Hotel Evora

The most interesting factoid about Moov Hotel Evora is that it's housed in what was the city's first bullring. Other than the exterior, few traces remain at the modern property. These days, the most popular spot to gather is at tables on the sleek, wooden interior deck. It has a pretty, blue-tiled fountain and shrubs along its perimeter, and guests can have breakfast out here in warm weather. Indoor public spaces have a streamlined look, and aren't quite as appealing but pleasant nonetheless. The hotel tends to attracts leisure travelers, which are mostly couples. 

Moov Hotel is just off the IP2 ring road on a cobblestone street at the outskirts of Evora’s historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A supermarket, shops, and several restaurants and bars are within walking distance of the hotel. The Royal Palace of Evora, north end of the Public Garden of Evora, and Chapel of Bones are all within a seven-minute walk. The main Giraldo Square is also a seven-minute stroll, and it's roughly a nine-minute walk to Rua Cinco de Outubro.  

The Museum of Evora, with more than 20,000 artifacts and the 12-century Cathedral of Evora (Portugal’s largest medieval cathedral) is a 15-minute walk. It's roughly the same distance to walk to the Roman Temple of Evora. Evora train station is a five-minute drive or 15-minute walk, and Badajoz Airport is about 75 minutes by car. 

Guest rooms at the Moov Hotel are not overly stylish, but they have a crisp, contemporary aesthetic. Walls are washed in cheery shades of light green or blue, and accented with black-and-white photos of horses (horseback riding is popular in the Alentejo region). Dark-brown furniture paired with all-white bedding add to the streamlined look. Rooms are well-maintained and quiet, and some feature a view of the hotel’s courtyard or the street and surrounding historic buildings. Amenities are limited, with no electric kettles, mini-fridges, or safes (the front desk has safety deposit boxes), but all come with air-conditioning, work desks, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are  sleek and bright, with white hexagonal tile throughout and large square sinks. All come with hairdryers and showers or shower/tub combos with rainfall showerheads. Rooms range from 161 square feet (15 square meters) to 312 square feet (29 square meters). 

The Moov Hotel Evora has limited property features, with no gym or full-service restaurant. The hotel serves a continental breakfast buffet for an extra charge that's generally well-liked by guests, and it includes an ample spread of pastries, cold cuts, cheese, and other cold items. Dining in the courtyard is available in warm weather. The hotel also offers a lobby lounge, vending machines, and 24-hour front desk with safety deposit boxes. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property, and parking is available for a daily fee.
