Scene
A unique riverfront cabin experience for families and outdoorsy couples
Thousands of trees dot the Pine Haven Resort's 14-acre property, and six hundred feet of the Fall River meanders through it. The eclectic country-western decorations in the office spill out onto a terrace covered in flowers and plants, an area the owners have dubbed, “The Secret Garden.” Inside the office -- where guests can find owner George and his daughter at almost any time of day -- is a log front desk, sitting area with a flat-screen TV, and wilderness knickknacks like mounted fish, a deer head, lanterns, and fishing poles. The family-owned resort feels intimate and the grounds are well-maintained, making it ideal for families, reunions, and outdoorsy couples. The owners host regular family-friendly get-togethers to encourage socializing, and the many fire pits, picnic areas, and grills throughout the grounds encourage barbecuing and making the most of the great outdoors.
