Myconian Villa Collection is a luxury property overlooking relatively quiet Elia Beach (it can get crowded, but it's not the party scene found on the sand in Mykonos Town) with modern villas and loads of lavish features. Highlights include an infinity saltwater pool, private beach on the Aegean (a five-minute walk from the hotel), and an on-site spa with saltwater therapy treatments. Stays can be upgraded with luxury yacht rentals or private chefs. There's a free shuttle to town and a breakfast buffet included in the cost of the room. The hotel has many of the same (if not better) features, and nicer digs, than the nearby (and similarly priced) Myconian Imperial Hotel & Thalasso Centre.
Scene
Modern design on the Aegean Sea (kids are allowed)
From the outside, the Myconian Villa Collection looks like a traditional sun-bleached white Greek hotel, but indoors the lobby is modern and stylish, with natural elements. The reception desk is made from two pieces of split and finished wood. Built-in white shelves in the wall hold identical potted flowers. Beige light fixtures shaped like large bees' nests hang from the ceiling. Furnishings in the lobby include a wooden four-poster day bed with a white cushion and pillows, a white slipcovered sofa, and wooden rocking chairs. Sculptures of wooden trees add interest to the space. Planted cactuses at the front entrance are a nice change from cliche olive trees.
Location
A secluded part of Mykonos overlooking Elia Beach, a 30-minute drive from the party action in Mykonos Town
Mykonos is internationally known for sandy beaches, perfect weather, and a wild party scene. If guests are looking for the weather and beach but prefer to dip in and out of the party scene, then they likely won't mind Myconian Villa Collection's quiet location about 30 minutes from the Mykonos Town action. The hotel is a five-minute walk to Elia Beach, where the hotel has a private area with loungers. There's also a beachside restaurant, and a public area with lounger rentals. Parking at the hotel is free, and there's a shuttle to town, though the schedule is irregular and it can get crowded. The surrounding area is dedicated to the beach and other luxury resorts. Tip: Guests can eat and swim at neighboring hotels.
Rooms
Modern and memorable villas with private swimming pools, or luxurious guest rooms -- some with hot tubs
Guest rooms and villas at Myconian Villa Collection are first rate. Each opens to a private balcony or patio with a swimming pool, and some have hot tubs. Air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs with DVD players are standard. The decor is modern and minimalist, with lots of bright-white fabrics and walls, plus curated metal sculptures. Tables are made of split and treated hardwood. Some villas have full kitchens and wine refrigerators. Bathrooms include separate soaking bathtubs and rainfall showerheads, along with Molton Brown amenities and soft bathrobes. Note that some bathrooms have a thick curtain between the bathtub and bedroom, and that there isn't a door between the semi-private water closet and the rest of the bathroom. Turndown service is offered nightly.
Features
Infinity saltwater swimming pool, free breakfast, pool bar and restaurant -- plus a spa and fitness center. Oh, and a helicopter too.
Though Myconian Villa Collection is a trek from Mykonos Town, there are plenty of luxury amenities to keep guests occupied and pampered on the property. The infinity saltwater swimming pool has a bar and restaurant with views of the Aegean Sea, and free refreshments, such as sorbet and chilled towels. Caribbean St. Barth products and saltwater therapy treatments are available in the spa, along with a fitness center. For jet setters, staff can arrange helicopter transportation and private yachts or butler services. Villa bookings come with extra-special features, such as Champagne and airport transfers. Breakfast and parking are free for everyone. For scuba diving, check out the PADI center at nearby Myconian Imperial Hotel & Thalasso Centre.
