The 400-room Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort is an upper-middle-range property with a beachfront setting on Abu Dabab Bay, which has a protected coral reef. There is a swimmable beach a five-minute walk away. Although on the dated side, rooms are pleasant and have a Nubian design with hanging lanterns and wall cutouts housing vases. All units have flat-screen TVs, desks, kettles, and furnished outdoor spaces. The resort’s facilities include four swimming pools -- adults-only and family options -- three restaurants, four bars, and a small gym, but there's no spa. Food receives mostly positive reviews, and all-inclusive rates are available. Couples wanting a beachfront property with a spa may prefer the adults-only Steinberger Coraya Beach.
Scene
Nubian-style resort with atmospheric rooms and array of amenities
The Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort is popular with both families and couples thanks to its gorgeous beachfront setting and array of on-site features. Its Nubian design can be seen in the low-rise buildings with arched doorways, the colorful stained glass dome in the lofty lobby, and hanging lanterns in the rooms. While palm tree-dotted grounds and the pools are lovely -- with spaces for both kids and adults -- the decor throughout is largely dated and in need of a refresh. For instance, the main restaurants is rather bland, save some columns painted in various kid-friendly colors. Nevertheless, this is a great pick for all types of tourists seeking a one-stop-shop vacation.
Location
On a private beach, a 45-minute drive from the airport
This property is set along a private beach on Abu Dabab Bay, in the emerging holiday destination of Marsa Alam on the west coast of Egypt. The Hilton is a 45–minute drive from Marsa Alam Airport, and around 30 minutes by car from the marina and tourist shops of Port Ghalib. There are no restaurants or bars within walking distance of the resort, and most visitors spend their whole vacation at the property. Because the adjacent ocean provides access to sea life and a coral reef, travelers wanting a more swimmable beach will have to walk about five minutes.
Rooms
Atmospheric Nubian-style rooms with modern amenities
Rooms are done in an atmospheric Nubian style consisting of colorful striped rugs, bed runners, and throw pillows, old-fashioned wood furniture with blue triangle accents, and exposed wood beams. Although rooms are on the dated side, wall cutouts with decorative vases, Moroccan lanterns, and arched doorways add character. Rooms start at a spacious 462 square feet, and either have garden or sea views from their furnished terraces. All units have work desks, flat-screen TVs with cable channels, air-conditioning, and closets with ironing facilities and safes. Mini-fridges and tea- and coffee-making facilities are also provided. Modern bathrooms have attractive mosaic and marble tiling, bidets, walk-in showers, hairdryers, and quality toiletries. Upgraded suites add seating areas and separate jetted tubs in bathrooms.
Features

The Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort is situated along a private beach with an environmentally protected coral reef. As such, guests wishing to swim will need to walk five or so minutes down the coast. Buggies are available to ferry guests to the area, which teems with marine life and is ideal for snorkeling. Although not swimmable, the appealing beach in front of the resort features plenty of loungers and umbrellas. Also available for a dip are four swimming pools, two of which are heated and one that's for adults only.
