Baron Palace Sahl Hasheeh is a family-friendly, upscale oceanfront property that’s 30 minutes south of Hurghada International Airport. With the resort's 12 restaurants and bars, free breakfast, and all-inclusive options, guests stay well-fed while enjoying the private beach, busy infinity pool, spa, modern gym, outdoor tennis courts, and kids’ play areas. The 644 rooms feel a bit less luxe than the public spaces but have good amenities like flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and kettles. Welcome bowls of fruit are a lovely touch and Swim-Up Suites have access to an adult-only pool. For those who prefer an adult-only property, consider the nearby Premier Le Reve Hotel & Spa.
Scene
Large family-friendly resort with elegant spaces and a clientele of couples and families
When guests arrive at Baron Palace Sahl Hasheesh, they’ll realize that like many of the other resorts along the Red Sea, this is a large property with spacious interiors and exteriors. Inside, the lobby is large and airy with patterned floors, a large chandelier, and atrium with colorful stained glass. There’s elegant seating next to floor-to-ceiling windows that look out onto a traditional Arabic courtyard and stunning views of the bay. With a large, green central lawn bordered by private pools and a large glossy terrace with seating, the grounds are quite posh and expansive. Even the infinity pool bordered by palm trees and flowers adds to the luxurious vibe. Restaurants vary in design, but generally reflect a geographical theme according to the type of cuisine served. Though the style is elegant throughout, some hallways have dated carpeting and it can get quite crowded and noisy (especially by the pool) thanks to a large clientele of families mixed in with couples.
Location
Beachfront location that's a 40-minute drive from Hurghada
Baron Palace Sahl Hasheesh is situated on a lovely beach that’s a 30-minute drive south of Hurghada International Airport. There’s not much surrounding the hotel -- just other hotels; no shops or restaurants. The vibrant town of Hurghada is a 40-minute drive away, while Makadi Bay Water World, a water park, takes 17 minutes to reach by car. All-in-all, most visitors are content to remain on-site or prepared to pay for taxis to nearby cities.
Rooms
Contemporary rooms with flat-screen TVs, balconies, mini-fridges, and kettles
Room decor at this hotel consists of tiled floors, white beds, cream and taupe accents, and some pops of color on the bed or in pillows. The style is classic and slightly elegant, but in a few years, might start to feel a bit dated. Flat-screen TVs, refrigerated minibars, kettles, bottled water, free Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, safes, and balconies are all standard amenities. A welcome basket of fruit is a lovely upscale touch.
Adults and couples who want privacy might want to book Swim-Up Suites which have a shared private adult-only swimming pool, private section on the beach, and free meals at Mikado, the on-site Japanese restaurant. Suites have access to the Baron Club, and the Grand Royal Sea View Suite has a private pool.
Bathrooms aren’t very impressive. They have showers with half-glass doors, bidets, Italian toiletries, and hairdryers.
