Clean and quiet, with a slightly homey vibe
SpringHill Suites has common areas that are bright and clean, with a bit more of a homey feel than other chain hotels. In
the lobby, fabric armchairs are clustered around a green tiled fireplace,
featuring carpeting with a cheerful orange and burgundy pattern. (The same can
be found in the breakfast room.) Framed black and white historic photographs
are hung on the walls. The pool area is a bit dark and low-ceilinged, but
there’s a small deck with a view of the nearby lake through the trees. Business travelers, families, and couples alike are common visitors.

The hotel sits on a quiet, tree-filled property
in Eagan, a small town that’s less than a half hour from Minneapolis by car.
The parking lot provides a buffer between the building and the main road. A Chili’s
is just across the street and a Wendy’s is next door. It’s about a
10-minute walk to the popular Junior’s Cafe & Grill, a casual spot that
serves burgers and sandwiches. It’s a 15-minute drive northwest to Minneapolis-Saint
Paul International Airport, with the hotel running a regular free shuttle, and
it’s a 12-minute drive to the Mall of America. Parking at the hotel is free.
Rooms
Clean and spacious with some dated furniture
The 105
guest rooms here are clean and fairly spacious, with a partition between the
bedrooms and small sitting areas with sofa beds and kitchenettes that have sinks, mini-fridges, microwaves, and coffeemakers. Basic wood furniture shows some wear and scratches, and some of the mattresses are on the too-soft side. Rooms also include flat-screen TVs, iPod docks, and hairdryers. Vanities
can be found outside of the clean bathrooms, which have popcorn textured walls and shower/tub
combos with red and white striped satiny curtains.
