Hotel Perla

Hotel Perla occupies a cream-colored five-story building with a restaurant overtaking the ground floor. The hotel itself does not have any public spaces apart from a narrow reception area adorned with a few watercolor paintings. Limited seating is offered in the form of black pleather seats. Though the Perla is located on a pedestrian street lined with bars, cafes, and restaurants, it remains relatively quiet, and the bars in the area are tranquil, so street noise generally isn't an issue. The hotel attracts a variety of international guests during the summer months, and is popular with European tour groups in the shoulder seasons. Note that the hotel is closed from mid-October until mid-April. 

Perla Hotel is located on a vibrant pedestrian street lined with restaurants, cafes, and bars in the Lapad Beach area not far from central Dubrovnik. There are also several bakeries, supermarkets, and pizzerias in the immediate vicinity. The beach itself is a two-minute walk away and features a pleasant seaside promenade that snakes along the coastline. It's a five-minute walk to the nearest bus stop, where bus number six connects to Pile Gate, one of the entrances to Dubrovnik's Old Town, a 20-minute ride. Dubrovnik Airport is around a half-hour drive from the hotel. 

Rooms at Hotel Perla are simply decorated -- to the point of being plain -- but they're reasonably spacious and kept impeccably neat and clean. All have blue carpeting, generic blond-wood furniture, and French doors that let in plenty of natural light. All rooms have balconies overlooking the street, and six have partial sea views. Amenities include 26-inch flat-screen TVs, minibars, and safes; irons/ironing board are available on request. Most rooms are Twins or Doubles, but six Triple Rooms are available, and some rooms have single sofa beds big enough for a child. The three Superior Rooms offer more floor space but don't add any other extras.  White-tile bathrooms tend to be small and most are fitted with narrow shower stalls which might be a tight squeeze for some -- a few feature shower/tub combos instead. All have towel-warming racks and hairdryers.

Perla Hotel has a slim list of features. Meals are served a la carte at Agora, the on-site restaurant, which has a pleasant outdoor terrace and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests are offered a 10 percent discount and half- and full-board meal plans are available. Wi-Fi is available free of charge throughout the property. The hotel also offers a laundry and ironing service, and assistance with airport transfers, walking tours, excursions, and restaurant reservations.
