Pros
- Apartment-style rooms are spacious and clean
- All apartments have fully equipped kitchens and washer/dryers
- Within walking distance of Dublin Castle and the Guinness Storehouse
- 24-hour reception desk
- Free Wi-Fi
Cons
- Some furnishings are in need of replacement
- No cleaning unless staying over seven nights
- Pricey daily parking fee
- Wi-Fi connection is spotty
- Thin walls and windows let in noise
- A bit removed from the heart of the city center
Bottom Line
The 110-room Staycity Serviced Apartments is part of a large chain of hotels with apartment-style guest rooms. There's no on-site restaurant, but each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen. Rooms are spacious and have washer/dryers, and the property is in a reasonably good location for tourists, a little removed from the city center but just a 10-minute walk to both the Dublin Castle and Guinness Storehouse. Although the free Wi-Fi is spotty and daily parking is pricey, the hotel is a solid option for travelers wanting the comforts of home. For a hotel with more amenities but smaller rooms, the Jurys In Christchurch may be a better option.

Scene
Primarily families who want the comforts of home, as there are few public spaces or amenities
From the outside, the Staycity Serviced Apartments looks like a storefront with its yellow sign displaying the hotel's website on an unassuming corner building. Inside, the small lobby is adorned with two black leather couches and a couple of display shelves. There's always a staff member sitting behind the large wooden front desk; guests appreciate the 24/7 attention to who is entering the building. Behind the desk is a large piece of artwork showing a woman's silhouette in front of a cityscape; these are also seen in the guest rooms. The one computer and printer is tucked into a lobby corner. Hallways are bland and unappealing. With no gym, restaurant or spa, guests are either in their spacious apartments or outside the hotel. There is a large courtyard area but it lacks seating.
Location
Slightly removed from the city center; within walking distance to many attractions
The Staycity Serviced Apartments Saint Augustine St is slightly removed from the city center, but guests still have reasonably easy access to many tourist attractions without being directly by too many loud bars and restaurants. It's a short five-minute walk to the Christ Church Cathedral and seven-minute walk to the Temple Bar district, which has a variety of bars, restaurants and galleries. It's a 10-minute walk to Guinness Storehouse and to Brazen Head, the oldest pub in Ireland. Luas, the Dublin tram system, has a stop near the hotel. The airport is just under 30 minutes away. For travelers with cars, there's an underground lot for a daily fee.
Rooms
Spacious apartment-style rooms with fully equipped kitchens; some furnishings need replacing
All 110 rooms at the hotel are apartment-style and range from one-bedroom to three-bedroom units. All are spacious, featuring living/dining room areas and fully equipped kitchens. The kitchens have stovetops, ovens, and various appliances, and are showing minor wear and tear in some cases. Each tiled living room area has a wooden dining table, small flat-screen TV, and purple couches and chairs; the leather chairs are very worn and need replacing. Bedrooms have bland furniture but they're modern and beds are comfy. There are some signs of stains on the carpet and scuff marks on the wall. Bathrooms are small but clean and have shower/tub combos or just walk-in showers, and toiletries are provided. A washer/dryer combo is a nice amenity and some of the rooms have a small balcony. Note that cleaning is only available if staying over a week.
Features
Almost no amenities, though a cafe breakfast is available
Due to its apartment-style rooms, the hotel lacks many features typical of a hotel this price -- such as a gym, restaurant, or business center (although there's one computer and printer in the lobby). There is a cafe breakfast available for a fee and the underground parking lot requires a daily fee. Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel, but some guests have complained of a poor connection. There are convenient coin-operated luggage lockers so guests can store their suitcases if their room isn't ready upon arrival; they can also be used for a short time after check-out.
