Though the Dublin Skylon Hotel is about 10 minutes north of the center of Dublin, it sits on a major bus line that runs directly through the center of town. That being said, the neighborhood surrounding the hotel is pretty residential and isolated. Guests won't be wandering out the door in the morning to stumble on a cute coffee shop. The location however is convenient for the airport and offers good value for money.Dublin has changed dramatically in the last 15 years. First there was the boom of the Celtic Tiger that brought great development and growth to the city. As a result of this wave of wealth, the city now has a cosmopolitan feel that it never had before. Since the economic bust, restaurants and hotels have generally retained the same quality, but the city in general is less expensive.
