Overview

Pros
  • Convenient, central location near Temple Bar's restaurants and nightlife

  • Simple rooms have electric kettles and plenty of natural light

  • Lively on-site Trinity Bar with personal Guinness taps at tables

  • Free (but slow) Wi-Fi in rooms, Trinity Bar, and restaurant

  • Near public transportation and local attractions

Cons
  • Loud street noise from attached bar/club

  • Rooms are very small

  • Breakfast is only meal served

  • Small, outdated bathrooms

Bottom Line

The Dublin Citi Hotel is a small, 27-room property with a very convenient location. Bright rooms are on the small side, with duvets, electric kettles, and bathrooms with shower/tub combos. This hotel has few amenities, with no lobby and small tube TVs in some rooms. The bar downstairs feels much more polished and is a popular spot for nightlife. As a result, the hotel leaves out earplugs for guests on arrival -- it can get pretty noisy on weekends. However, Wi-Fi is free and the location is convenient for exploring Temple Bar and other south side attractions.

Location

On a busy street above a busy nightclub in Dublin City Center, close to Trinity College

The Dublin Citi Hotel is located on the south side of the River Liffey, near Temple Bar, the historic "cultural quarter". Temple Bar has retained its historic character with cobblestone streets and historic buildings now home to galleries, shops, and bars. During the day, tourists of all ages shop at the outdoor markets and vintage shops. But at night, the scene gets a bit rowdier, with young tourists filing in and out of the area's bars. The hotel is within walking distance of numerous bars and restaurants, as well as sights such as the Dublin Castle and Trinity College.- 21-minute drive to the Dublin International Airport
