Aspect Hotel Dublin Park West is a 146-room mid-range hotel located in an industrial area in the suburbs of Dublin, four miles from the city's restaurants, shops, museums, and tourist attractions. Rooms and public spaces are plain but functional. Located on a business campus, the hotel is probably best suited to business travelers, or those looking for a quick stopover from the highway. Although the hotel offers good value when compared with comparable properties in the city center, leisure travelers might want to be closer to Dublin's attractions.
Scene
Average, mid-range hotel outside the city center that caters to business travelers
Aspect Hotel Dublin Park West, built in 2006, is a six-story crescent-shaped structure in Dublin City West, a business park four miles outside the city center. The lobby is spacious, with white tile flooring and a series of brown leather sofas placed back-to-back in distinct seating areas. The effect is somewhat sterile, with one lone piece of abstract art hanging behind the check-in desk. The vibe throughout the public areas, hallways, and meeting rooms is basic -- there are not many interesting design elements or eye-catching features.
Location
Far from the city center in an unappealing industrial area
Situated on a business campus in the suburbs outside central Dublin, Aspect Hotel Dublin Park West is surrounded by a residential apartment area and companies. There are no tourist attractions within walking distance, but the Liffey Valley Shopping Center, one of the largest in Dublin with many international brand retail stores, is about a 10-minute drive from the hotel. The Clondalkin Leisure Center, Newlands Golf Club, War Memorial Gardens, and the Kilmainham Gaol Historical Museum are also within a short drive. The Park West Train Station is within a five-minute walk -- the ride to Dublin's Heuston Station takes about 15 minutes, and from there a tram connects to O'Connell Street. Bus 79A stops right outside the hotel, and reaches central Dublin in about 40 minutes. The hotel operates a free shuttle service into the city, but it runs only on weekends.
Rooms
Basic, bright, clean, functional rooms

Each room has tea- and coffeemakers, safes, and hair dryers. Bathrooms are also basic -- most have stand-alone showers with plastic floors -- and come with toiletries.
