Scene

Modern apartment-style property with a homey feel

The 40-story blue-glass facade of Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residence is immediately noticeable among its shorter neighbors. The entrance carries through with the extravagance, with a large water feature, tall palm trees, and large, colorful fake camels. Inside, the lobby is smaller than would be expected though still grand in decor with large colorful abstract artwork on the walls, central table with beautiful fresh flower arrangements, and rather striking red leather sofas. The welcome drink of Arabian coffee in the lobby creates a welcome feel. As most of the apartments are occupied by long-term rentals, the building has quite a homey atmosphere with people going about their daily routines. The restaurant leaves much to be desired in terms of decor, though the views from the 30th floor are stunning. The outside terrace, which includes the large swimming pool, is a nice spot to sit during the winter months -- but the shortage of shade is not ideal in the summer season. Short-stay guests are mostly business travelers, particularly those working at the nearly World Trade Centre, along with family travelers due to the hotel's spacious apartments.

Location

Directly opposite the World Trade Centre in downtown Dubai

Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residence is conveniently located for travelers in Dubai for business at the Dubai World Trade Centre, which is located right behind the hotel (less than a three-minute walk away). There's not much within walking distance when going out of the front entrance of the hotel, but out the back entrance are a few nearby restaurants and a bar. The Dubai International Financial Centre is an eight-minute drive away. Downtown Dubai, including Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa, can be reached within 15 minutes by car. The hotel offers a free shuttle to Wild Wadi Water Park and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel (note that this private beach has an entrance fee) -- both about a 20-minute drive away. Jumeirah Open Beach, one of Dubai's most popular free beaches, is also 20 minutes by car. The Dubai World Trade Centre Metro Station is a 15-minute walk, through the World Trade Centre, from the hotel. Dubai International Airport is a 15-minute drive or a half-hour on public transportation.

Rooms

Contemporary apartments with full kitchens and washing machines

Each of the 377 apartments at Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residence are individually owned, though all are managed by Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts. The total number of apartments available fluctuate, with the majority being used for long-term rentals. One-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments are available, all with similar decor and differing in layouts. Decor is contemporary and minimalist with tiled floors, white walls with simple artwork, and splashes of maroon with the sofas, rugs, and bedspreads. All apartments are spread across two floors and include separate living/dining areas with large windows overlooking the city, a few also have balconies. Kitchens include refrigerators, microwaves, ovens, hot tops, toasters, electric kettles, coffeemakers, and eating/cooking utensils. All apartments feature air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs (in the living rooms and each bedroom), washing machines, irons and ironing boards, telephones, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms include walk-in showers, tubs (including hot tubs in the master bedrooms), hairdryers, and Jumeirah-branded toiletries.

Features

Convenience store, well-priced restaurant, free buffet breakfasts, and large fitness center

Features at Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residence are focused towards convenience for long-stay guests. The small convenience store on the ground floor sells a variety of convenient goods from snacks to basic toiletries. The Club, the restaurant on the 30th-floor, is open for breakfast through to dinners, offering international fare at reasonable prices. All short-stay guests (staying for fewer than 30 days) get a free buffet breakfast, with hot and cold options including cereals, fruit, eggs, and meats. Guests should note that no alcohol is served on the property. Room service is available but not 24 hours. The outdoor pool on the 30th-floor is suitable for swimming laps and is surrounded by sun loungers and parasols, as well as a seating area for the restaurant. The 24-hour fitness center is spacious and includes a large selection of modern Matrix and Precor cardio and weight-training equipment -- plus free weights, a private gym section, and steam room. All guests receive free entrance to the Wild Wadi Water Park, which there is also a free shuttle to from the hotel. Wi-Fi throughout and on-site parking are both free. This is a pet-friendly property and an indoor kids' playground will be opened by mid-2018. There are no spa or meeting facilities available.
