Originally
built in 2013, the Conrad Dubai is an elegant and modern five-pearl hotel in a
prime location near the Dubai International Financial Centre, just opposite the World Trade Centre. The 555 rooms are spacious, with king-size beds and modern conveniences such as iPhone docks and Nespresso machines. This large but beautiful 52-floor hotel includes an expansive pool area, six contemporary dining
options, and a full-range spa with eight treatment rooms. Although business travelers are the target market, it’s perfect for anyone looking for a relaxing
and refined environment. That said, there's not much for families and beachgoers -- big rowdy groups might prefer a more casual environment closer to the shore.
Scene
Elegant and refined hotel with contemporary classic decor, popular with business travelers
Just
outside the Conrad's doors are the World Trade Centre metro station and heavily
congested roadways that create a busy and loud ambience in the area surrounding the hotel. Inside the hotel, the crowd mirrors
much of the streets outside -- mainly business professionals -- but the
environment is much different. The lobby is spacious and elegant, much more
refined and calmer than the bustling streets outside, and sets the mood for the hotel.
Large white columns with floral engravings stretch from floor to ceiling,
armchairs and coffee tables offer a comfortable resting place for tea, and
various floral arrangements add to the grand space.
Location
Near Dubai's International Financial Centre, across from the WTC and the metro Red Line
The
hotel is in a superb location for business travelers, as it's directly opposite the
World Trade Centre and a 10-minute car ride from the Dubai International Financial
Centre. The Red Line of the Dubai Metro serves the World
Trade Centre Station, right by the hotel. The tourist sights at Dubai Creek are three
stations north at BurJuman Metro Station 1. Dubai Fountains, Dubai Mall, and
Burj Khalifa are all three stations south at Burj Khalifa/
Dubai Mall Metro Station. The Dubai International Airport takes around 20 minutes to reach by metro and just over 10 minutes by car.
Rooms
Spacious rooms with views of Dubai Skyline and the Arabian Gulf
The
555-unit property offers four types of rooms: Deluxe, Executive, Executive Lounge, and Suites, all of which are stylish, modern, and spacious. Rooms have
handsome dark wood accents, marble bathrooms, and
floral-accented carpeting designed to resemble henna art. Large flat-screen TVs sit atop contemporary gold-faceted credenzas, into which minibars are discreetly tucked away. While all rooms offer great views of either the
skyline or the Arabian Gulf, none have balconies.
Standard Rooms have elegant decor and spacious walk-in glass-walled showers, but the Suites are much more extravagant, with separate living areas,
surround-sound systems, iPod docks, and Nespresso machines. Suite bathrooms are luxurious, with marble fittings, and separate soaking tubs and
rainfall showers.
Features
Purobeach Urban Oasis, two restaurants and lounges, spa with Turkish bath, and multiple meeting facilities
On the sixth floor sits the Purobeach Urban Oasis, a glamorously landscaped garden with a pool and
semi-private seating that provides a pleasant retreat in the midst of the busy business
district. There are two restaurants, Marco Pierre White Grill, a
piano bar and lounge that serves classic English cuisine, and Ballaro, which
serves international fare during the day and Italian dishes at dinnertime.
Cave is a chic and intimate wine bar and Suga specializes in cocktails.
Adding to the list of hotel facilities is the Conrad Spa, a clean and
impressive space with a Turkish bath, facial treatments, and head-to-toe massages and scrubs. The gym is also impressive; the space is larger than typical hotel
gyms and offers multiple cardio and weight machines. Many
businesses hold conferences at the hotel, not only because of its proximity
to the business district but also because of its multiple event spaces, including two ballrooms, three boardrooms, and 11
conference rooms. Wi-Fi and parking are both free.
