The Mercure Dieppe la Presidence hotel is an upper-mid-range beachside property directly below the walls of the 15th-century Chateau de Dieppe. The elegant 85 guest rooms are full of charming decorative details, but they're pricey and lack balconies. Still, the location is a quick walk to the town center, with its harbor, shopping, and restaurants, and there's an on-site bar and restaurant (closed Sundays) offering room service and breakfast, for a fee. The nearby Hotel de la Plage doesn't have a bar and restaurant, but offers better value. 

This 44-room, upper-middle-range hotel is a short walk to the sights and shopping of this quaint coastal town in the Haute-Normandy region of Northern France. The hotel is a stone's throw (if you have a good arm) to Dieppe's popular pebbled beach and close to Dieppe's main historical attractions. The hotel is modern, clean, in a quiet area, and a very good value, but if you're fussy about your bathing, choose your room carefully (some have walk-in showers, others shower/tub combos). The Ibis Dieppe Val Druel is a comparable option in terms of size and price, but it's a five-minute drive from the beach and center.
