The 115-room, lower-middle-range Hampton Inn & Suites
Denver/Airport Gateway Park is a clean, quiet, and comfortable hotel in a
convenient location for those using Denver’s airport. Guest rooms are bright and modern, with 40-inch flat-screen TVs, and many have Rocky Mountain views. It provides a nice
amenity package for airport travelers with free, 24-hour airport shuttle,
24-hour business and fitness centers, an indoor pool, and free hot breakfast and
social hour snacks. It’s a chain property but it’s well maintained and
competitively priced for what it offers. For more spacious rooms and home-like
features such as fully equipped kitchenettes, guests could consider the Homewood Suites
Denver International Airport next door, however, rates tend to be higher.
Scene
Casual and comfortable hotel that caters to guests passing through the Denver airport
The Hampton Inn caters to guests traveling through Denver’s airport,
as evidenced by the flat-screen TV displaying flight information in the lobby. Throughout, the hotel is nicely decorated with tan tile flooring accented by cobalt-blue lights and pale teal wallpaper. In the lobby, a two-sided gas fireplace framed by a stone wall separates the front desk from
the dining and lounge area, which is the center of activity. It’s a comfortable
and large space with different shades of tan, brown, blue, and green on the
walls and seating, along with dark wood furniture and earthy accents, such as faux-twigs in metallic vases. A rectangular table
with electric plug-ins is in the center with high-back upholstered chairs that are great for guests working on laptops. Bench seats frame the outside walls, and
several different seating arrangements with tables exist. The self-serve
breakfast area is adjacent to the lounge, and the indoor pool, fitness center, and business center are nearby as well. A small courtyard with seating is
positioned near the hotel entrance.
Location
Near the airport in a well-maintained business district catering to travelers
The Hampton is part of a cluster of hotels and restaurants
that cater to business and leisure travelers passing through Denver
International Airport, which is 15 to 20 minutes away by car or shuttle, depending
on traffic. Downtown Denver is approximately a 20- to 30-minute drive and the
Buckley Air Force Base is about 15 minutes away. Several casual restaurants are less
than a five-minute walk from the hotel, with some directly across the four-lane
street in front of the Hampton Inn. The area is known as the Gateway Business Park,
and it includes some office parks and is well maintained with sidewalks on both
sides of the tree-lined street.
Rooms
Clean, quiet, and comfortable with large flat-screen TVs and bright bathrooms
Guests give rooms high marks for being clean, quiet, and
comfortable. Rooms are offered in king or queen standard and King Studio and Two-Queen Suites. All have the same simple yet attractive decor with white
bedding and shades of brown and tan on carpeted floors, walls, drapes, and generous upholstered chairs. Subtle teal and cobalt accents are nice touches of color. Rooms have dark wood headboards, nightstands, and dressers, which hold 40-inch flat-screen TVs. All rooms have work desks with ergonomic chairs, along with lap desks, mini-fridges, coffeemakers, hairdryers, and ironing facilities. Suites provide separate sitting areas, each with a couch, table, and
chairs; a long work desk separates the living room and bedroom in each suite, and there's additional space for kitchenette-style sinks, granite countertops, and microwaves. Standard bathrooms have large granite vanities and
mirrors and are well lit with stall showers. Vanities are located outside the suite bathrooms, which offer shower/tub combos. Neutrogena toiletries, free Wi-Fi, and weekday newspapers are
provided in all rooms and suites. Many rooms also have Rocky Mountain views, so interested guests should ask when booking.
